Sierra Charts + OEC data feed not updating

My Sierra Charts have frozen just now. I tried uploading the current software version (1097) but that has not helped. My charts are still frozen. Any suggestions? Please. David |

Shortly after I posted my please for help, I noticed that my charts began to update properly. Since when has there been this 5 symbol limit on the OEC data feed? My charting layout hasn't really changed in many months, so is this something new? I don't believe I am charting more than 5 symbols, the ones I have Sierra Charts on are: the YM / ES / NQ / FDAX and FTSE, but I shall post the log as requested by you at the end of this message. Lastly, the 'value-cursor' on my YM charts (which is the market I trade and hence most charts) was not moving at all. It had frozen completely (at the time I sent you my request to the SC support board). I await your comments. Lastly, the 'value-cursor' on my YM charts (which is the market I trade and hence most charts) was not moving at all. It had frozen completely (at the time I sent you my request to the SC support board). The Message Log does show a period of time where the OEC server had a problem and was not responding to the logon request. It is for this reason why the charts would not update. You did go over the symbol limit: Symbol Error - NQH4 is unknown, unavailable, or improperly formatted. Sierra Support, I just got in and on loading my sierra charts I found they are AGAIN failing to update. Last time you suggested I contact OEC and request they increase the limits to what I can have open. This they did as per their email of 28 Feb which follows: Dear David, Thank you for your email. Per your request the max DOMs have been increased from 5 to 10, the max quotes have been increased from 50 to 100, and the max charts have been increased from 10 to 15. If you are having trouble viewing more than 5 symbols through Sierra Charts please contact them for further assistance. If you have any other questions please email us again or call 1-800-920-5808. Sierra Support, I think I have solved the problem (on my own!!!). My charts are now updating properly. Seems for some unknown reason, I was not connected to my OEC data feed -- how that came about I have no idea, can you perhaps explain what caused my data link to have been switched off? Anyway whilst awaiting a response from you, I went to file / and then 'connect to data' and lo and behold, my charts started working properly. David |
