Beginning last week with updates I have been unable to install either via Sierra Chart>Help>Download Current or Download Prerelease versions. I also tried downloading the install file to install to current Sierra Chart location. The euro dialog box is attached. Thank you.

There is most likely a permissions problem with the account you are logged in as when you perform the update, and where the installation is trying to install to.

We would need to see the log from the installation to be able to give any additional information. You can do this by selecting the button on the Installation window named Send Log to Support located in the upper right corner of the window, after you have attempted an install and it fails. Then let us know that you have sent the log.

That was my thought as well, but I changed nothing during that past week.

Log sent.

Thank you

Go to the following directory on your system:
C:\Users\Default User.DESKTOP-5SRAAGU\Documents\SierraChart-Hist

Then delete the directory within the above with the following name, along with all subdirectories underneath it:
DownloadedInstallationFiles

Then run the installation again and let us know if it worked or failed.

Unfortunately, no that did not solve the issue and I rechecked after the attempted install. The attempt did not recreate or populate a new directory with that name either.

Please send the logfile again after trying the upgrade. We want to see what it states now.

But to resolve this issue immediately, you will need to use the Zip installer. Refer to the information here:

We think the location of Sierra Chart is the issue. Install it into C:\SierraChart.

You could try using one of these folders as an alternative though:
[drive:]\ProgramData or [drive:]\Users\[username]

Here are instructions to move the installation:

John - I did as suggested and changed the install location to the root C:\ . That seems to have solved the issue.

Curious though as to what changed last week. I have had the install in the prior location for over 12 months and have updated religiously at least every 5 new pre-releases and often on every pre-release. I've never had an issue.

Thank you for the prompt resolution. If you solve the directory problem, I would prefer to move back to the original install location.
