Hello,

basically I am missing 100s of index symbols on this page although I am subscribed to them

https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChart_RealTime_And_Historical_Symbols.php&SymbolsPage=Indices#INDEX

Can you please have a look at that shortly? Thanks

We do not provide support for symbols in that category.

Now what does that mean?

Why are they listed as "The symbols and notes on these pages only apply to the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service and to the Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available from Sierra Chart."

They are simply not existent

Where is a list then please with the available Index symbols I actually pay for?
Searching through 100s of entries only to realize it is not available even when you subscribed makes not that much sense.
And as it is the SC feed it would seem inappropriate to ask someone else about it.

Thanks

Now I found out that the indexes are very well available when selecting SC All Services as data/trading service.

Still the question not answered how you not provide support to your own index/data service.

When selecting IB as trading service together with SC data feed the indexes I am looking for are simply not available as the symbol list is not accurate.
I cannot open 2 feeds without paying for it and honestly I do not see why I should do that because I am paying already for the indexes, but I cannot access them because they are not mapped when using IB as broker.

So how should this be fixed then please?

If you are asking about the symbols specifically in this particular subsection:

https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChart_RealTime_And_Historical_Symbols.php&SymbolsPage=Indices#INDEX

then we do not provide any assurance, they will be listed anywhere other than on that webpage. There is no real-time data for them.

But there is the same problem with for instance the S&P or DOW subsection, to these I am explicit subscribed in your service. While not all of them, a lot are not there...

How should I know what you deliver and what not? But as seen in my previous post it does not seems the matter if you deliver it or not but more a matter of the mapping if using another trading service on top of SC data feed.

I can only try to open a sub instance and disable the RT feed and do a remapping to SC service mappings.
But if this is the way to go... I don't know. This seems like a bad workaround

For the Dow and the S&P Indices we are going to add new items to the Find Symbol window to request a list of symbols from the server for those particular categories. We do not pre-list them because it is too many symbol settings.

Ok thanks, when this is done I will try if it works together with IB as trading service or if I have to do the same.
For the indexes you do not provide support although they are there I can run them only in a particular instance then with SC All Services and RT Sierra feed disabled because of the one connection limitation. This is the only way it seems to work out.
For the indexes in the other sections I will test when this is done.

Thanks

You can now search for the S&P and Dow symbols through File >> Find Symbol >> Indexes Search (Real-time). Instructions:
