We had an issue with one of the servers for the SC Exchange Data Feed on 2020-08-24. We are working now on remedying the problem.

The primary issue was that the system was getting low on available memory and was not performing optimally. We are dramatically increasing the amount of memory on this server and it has been restarted.

This was causing issues with the Sierra Chart market market statistics data feed and other interruptions and performance issues with other exchange feeds. In the morning we switched the market statistics data feed to our other server.

This issue had no effect upon Forex data or the Denali data feed. When we began to notice problems, we transferred users over to our other server.

To download any missing historical Intraday data you have in your charts due to this issue, follow these instructions:

Re-download all the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download". You just need to do this once per symbol and not for each chart.

The situation with that server is now stable and we will be updating the memory over the weekend. We have filled in the missing historical data on that system.

It did have a limited amount of memory which has been sufficient in the past but we are dramatically increasing it to 256 GB which is far in excess of what is needed but we want to be on the safe side.

What has happened on Monday was there was a use of the system paging file which does not deliver the kind of performance that the server requires for real-time processing.

The issue described in post #1 again occurred near the morning of 2020-08-28. We quickly detected it, and disconnected the users from that server.

We have not yet done the memory installation. It is being done this Saturday (2020-08-29 in the evening). Once this is done, this problem will not recur.

We were hoping it was not going to reoccur but gradually the memory manager of the OS was beginning to run inefficiently due to the limited memory on the system and apparently was using the paging file which is going to provide degraded performance on a real-time system.

If we also need to do additional hardware updates like adding new CPUs with additional cores we will do that but we do not think that will be necessary. This is a memory issue.
