If I have historical data back to say 2007, but I am using intraday data on say a 15 min chart for accuracy & speed, surely any studies which use the "Period OHLC Variable Period" set to render Open, High, Low, Close based on the Historical data will not render any results on a 15 minute chart because that data is missing?

This is not clear for us. What are the Input settings for the "Period OHLC Variable Period" study?

Time Period: Yearly
Time Period Length: 1
Use current time period: No
Auto skip period of no trading: No
Minimum required time periods as %: 5
Forward project OHLC lines: No
Number of forward bars to project: 1
Number of days to calculate: 5000
Graphs/low lines historically: No
Display Debugging Output: No

My point is that no matter what the settings, this info is based on a historical chart, so if I am trading on an intraday chart, these lines will not appear on an intraday chart, which essentially means drawing all those lines manually or not being able to rely on historical data.

The first thing to understand is that the data that the Period OHLC - Variable Period study is going to use, is the data on which the study is placed. So if it is on the 15 minute chart, then it is using whatever data is in the 15 minute chart. If it is on a Daily chart, it will use Daily data, etc.

If you want to have 1 year period OHLC lines displayed on your 15 minute chart and your 15 minute chart does not go back the full year, then just open a separate chart that has the historical data and put the Period OHLC - Variable Period study on that chart then use the Study/Price Overlay study to put those lines on your 15 minute chart.
