The first thing to understand is that the data that the Period OHLC - Variable Period study is going to use, is the data on which the study is placed. So if it is on the 15 minute chart, then it is using whatever data is in the 15 minute chart. If it is on a Daily chart, it will use Daily data, etc. If you want to have 1 year period OHLC lines displayed on your 15 minute chart and your 15 minute chart does not go back the full year, then just open a separate chart that has the historical data and put the Period OHLC - Variable Period study on that chart then use the Study/Price Overlay study to put those lines on your 15 minute chart.
