SC will neither open a historical nor intraday chart for symbols like BRK.A while using the SC data feed, even though those are the symbols being returned by using the "Find Symbol" functionality. All I get is "unknown symbol" error messages. Obvious variations also don't work. What is the correct syntax supposed to be for instruments like that while using the SC date feed?

We see you are using Interactive Brokers.

There is going to be symbol mapping issues in that case with these types of symbol patterns. Set up a separate installation of Sierra Chart to use with the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed:
Using Multiple Data and Trading Services at the Same Time

This is the data that you will see in that case:

And in the installation of Sierra Chart used with Interactive Brokers you will want to disable this option:
Data/Trade Service Settings: Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds (Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Common Other Settings)
