I am struggling with delayed data on the Denali feed. It starts out fine and then delays more and more as time goes on. Currently my charts are printing 9mins delayed. What is causing this?

I recently updated to 2118 and now to 2120 and I can't say whether the delay is directly correlated to the update but both are recent. I have tried pausing my anti virus as this was something that had caused data issues previously but this does not seem to be the problem this time.

We can see that you are in South Africa.

Follow the instructions here to reduce bandwidth usage:
Prices / Data Falling Behind: 4.12 - Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feeds

Also only track the minimum number of symbols in Sierra Chart that you actually need.

Yes I am in South Africa however I don't know that bandwidth is the issue. I am currently on a 200mbps fibre line connected via LAN cable to my station. I checked my connection at the time of the lag and the speed was normal. I am also only tracking 5 symbols at any given time and I have tracked as many as 13 without issues previously. I am reliant on market depth and tick storage for numbers bar charts so don't want to change that to time storage. It is now 5am EST and I have not had lag issues this session so far but as stated the problem has been intermittent.

I checked my CPU usage. My processor spec is a dual processor Intel Core i7 -4510U CPU @ 2.00GHz 2.60Ghz with 8GB ram. I checked the CPU load and sierra is using around 15 and currently with no lag CPU overall usage is between 65-80%

The Internet speed on your side clearly is irrelevant.

Clearly there has been some temporary bandwidth issue with the network connectivity to your location. This is not something that is within our control.

Ok hopefully that is the case and it gets resolved.

You think that the cpu is fine?

Is there anyway to set some kind of alert when data is lagging? I have had some close calls placing orders while data lags.

Thanks that is very helpful. I have added that to my chart heading. Is there a way to create an alert if the delay is greater than a certain amount. I see that there is a 1 minute rule which then displays delayed but is there a way to edit this to say 30 seconds?

No there is no alert that is available for this. And also it would be frustrating to get an alert because there is no reliable way to know whether the market is open or not, and it is going to show a large delay when the market closes which would generate continuous alerts after a period of time.
