Trend Channels moving on tick charts...

I have researched some of the posted info on lines moving on tick charts and I am confused. I have not had this happen on other platforms. I even lock the trend channels and they still will go screwy after a few price bars. This is quite frustrating. Any new guidance on this? Seems like a serious bug that shouldn't be happening on a platform of this caliber. Two points connected should always be two points connected regardless of what happens beyond the "hard right edge"...

Thanks.

Any tips on this phenomenon besides continually cutting lines so they stop before they enter the fill space? :(

Do you have a picture specifying what you are writing about?

Hmmm... I will try to take a before and after photo next time it happens.

Basically I set up a channel and extend the lines so it functions like a ray. As price progresses, the channel lines will move (usually wider) than what I set up. It gets confusing because as the trading day progresses and I revisit my older channels, I notice several are usually a bit screwy (lines that used to be at candle closes are now further above/below the original placement.

I read on the Sierra documentation that this has something to do with calculating the angle beyond the locked fill space. It doesn't make sense to me. Why can't a locked channel stay along the line it was originally placed... new candles be damned? :/

The documentation here explains this:
Lines/Rays or Other Chart Drawings Move After Drawing Them: Right Side Fill Space and Variable Chart Bar Timeframes

No need for this:

Okay, thank you! I believe that answers my question. Just to be certain: When setting a line, do not extend it past the last visible candle. After the line is established, I can then "extend drawing" with no fear that my angle will be changed in the future?
