I was on sierra version 1991 and everything was running just fine. But I run one 3rd party indicator and recently had to update to version 2023 or higher for it to keep working. After that I noticed sever slow down when opening 2nd chartbook to the point that it's not even workable.

Just one chartbook is fine, like the old version. But opening 2nd .cht now takes 5 min or more just to load everything up. And after everything loads, it becomes almost unresponsive. Just moving a mouse cursor takes significant time for it to move. And opening study menu takes 30 sec to a min. Even if I close one of the chartbooks the problem still persists. Have to close sierra and reopen.

I updated to version 2090 something and even 2102 and I still get the same problem. What changed between 1991 and 2023 and above?

Even when I open second instance with newer version to try to mitigate the problem I still notice some slowdown when moving through charts.

And it's not computer problem or some windows update, because if I download version 1991 it works just fine and 2 chartbook loads quickly and everything is responsive.

Thank you.

Run Sierra Chart in Safe Mode:

See if that resolves the problem. Let us know.

We have never been able to reproduce any such problem like this whenever we hear it. The performance of versions remains the same and is better in newer versions. Refer to:

Thank you for your prompt response.

I tried safe mode and that didn't change anything. However I found one chartbook that made sierra non responding when I open it as second chartbook ( only the newer version, ver 1991 is still OK ) and it had a lot of charts, detached charts and indicators that I use to back test ideas. But when I disconnected data feed both chartbooks become very responsive once everything loaded up.

I followed suggestions in the links and that seemed to help a bit. But I still notice some lag when I move my cursor, charts and open menus with 2 light ( not too busy) chartbooks. Even when I start new instance and have only one chartboook open per instance I still get the same lag. The only thing that seems to work is when I disconnect data feed or go back to ver. 1991.

Sierra ver. 2102 seems to work fine even with that one heavy chartbook mentioned above as long as it's the only one open. Problem/lag for me starts as soon as I open 2 chartbooks at once.

Thank you.

I guess I figured it out. I had to significantly reduce the number of loaded days on some of the data heavy charts. Now I can have 2 chartbooks open w/o any lag.
