[User Discussion] - JPX and CQG Japan server connection

I have broker account at RJO Futures, this was specifically established with them in an attempt to trade on OSE/JPX from a location physically in Japan and on a local CQG Japan server (rather than Chicago with AMP.) My CQG account was set up via RJO. Data is incoming to SC. However they [CQG/RJO] are unable to connect me to the CQG Tokyo server, only the Singapore or Hong Kong server is possible. This is the brief reasoning provided by RJO: CQG does have direct access to Tokyo but Sierra Chart doesn’t have a web API to connect to. Your only options are Singapore or Hong Kong and we currently have you connected to Hong Kong. Can you reach out to Sierra chart and let me know what their response.
This is not an area of expertise for me. Is there any way to resolve this? I acknowledge and understand your strong reticence to spend time on CQG related issues, and that a SC solution for JPX data is in your 2020 pipeline. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2020-03-01 03:10:58

CQG manages this automatically based on your location. When there is a resolution for the IP address for the CQG Web API server, you are given the IP of the nearest server. And you can tell what server you are getting by pinging: api.cqg.com And then run a geolocation on that IP address. Although the result might not be accurate and could be wildly wrong. I was aware of the "geo-IP" allocation with CQG. Taking the IP address from the Sierra chart log, I am connected to Hong Kong. But a WHOIS IP lookup for api.cqg.com gives me Chicago. I am in Japan. My query is: why can't CQG connect me to their Japan server, based on this information from them: CQG does have direct access to Tokyo but Sierra Chart doesn’t have a web API to connect to. Your only options are Singapore or Hong Kong

This is what CQG keep saying: "We see the user connecting via Sierra Chart for market data. We don't have a Tokyo location for Sierra market data." |
