Whenever I use a range chart with candles and set the anchors, the line often doesn't set on the price that I set it to. It draws the line quite a bit off the anchor mark?

I tried that, but when I set the first anchor, you can see it does not line up. I set the anchor to the top of this candle and it is slightly below it.

When I did this and followed the instructions, it would give an error in the SC main data log. I stripped the chart down and put only the line that was making the error. You can see at the top of the first candle the trend line is attached to.

We will look this over, but in regards to that error with uploading the image, update to the current version of Sierra Chart:

Thanks. I updated my version and uploaded the image. Is this an error in programming that needs fixed or is there something I can do about it? You can see when I set the 2nd anchor it is way off from the intended top where the purple arrow is. This is roughly 20 ticks from the actual anchor point.

I also noticed that after a trend line is drawn on these range charts that after a certain amount of bars, there will be some kind of recalculation that then pulls the trend line off of its anchor.

We are very confused by the last image you added and your statement about it. Where exactly did you place the anchor points for the line in that image? Was the line originally lined up to that bar that is pointed to with the purple arrow, or was it off when you placed the line?

Also, refer to the information here about why lines can move, particularly if you have drawn the end-point in the Fill Space on the right. Let us know if this is perhaps what you are seeing.

Yes. The line was on the top of the candle tail before I manually typed in the 2nd anchor. It moved after I typed it in.

What do you mean by "typed it in"? Was the line drawn and in place and then you modified the anchor points manually?

Can you give us the Step-by-Step that you used to place the line and modify it (if you did modify it) that then led to the situation you are seeing?

I drew the line from the top candle and then had it cross perfectly with the top of the second candle where the arrow is. This was done with the LINE drawing tool and then I 'extend drawing'. I click on the line and click 'Chart drawing properties' and then go to anchors. I set the first anchor at the price where the line starts on the left and the 2nd anchor where it crosses the top of the 2nd candle with the arrow.

Why are you modifying the anchors? To us, it just sounds like you are not setting the anchor points correctly when you modify them.

I draw the line and then set the anchors. There are times that the line isn't perfect and I want to make sure that it lines up to the exact point on the candle. Manually drawing it can be off at times. The anchors should be exact. What should I be doing differently when I modify the anchor points? I literally type the price in where they should connect.

Just make sure that the date/time of the anchor matches to the bar that you want to line up to. Since it is not lining up, the anchor must be at some other bar where it is lining up. If you have the Date/Time and Price correct for both anchors, then you should have everything line up.

Let us know if this resolves it for you.
