Hey Gents -

If this helps, I run two installations of SC on the same PC. I use Denali/TT and subscribe to CME top of book. I use the live trading connection for one and the SC all services for the other. No problems at all. I have also had both installations running under the live trading connection without issues I could tell. SC just has to download the different symbols for the live trading connection. They have the _FUT_ in the name.

Re: Post#23,
I would like to clarify and rephrase the question(s) if I may:

1. Does having 2 independent instances of SC running on the "same machine" the same as
running 2 independent instance of SC running on 2 different machine?

2. With the default option to have "2 systems/computers" allowed to connect under "Denali Exchange Data Feed on Two Computers Simultaneously" (Denali Exchange Data Feed: Denali Exchange Data Feed on Two Computers Simultaneously)
means that I can connect to maximum of 2 systems OR computers, one each?

* The way I currently connect is:

Connection OK. Machine 1: SC Instance 1 - connecting to Denali Realtime Data / Executing on Rithmic 1 (with FCM 1),
Connection OK. Machine 1: SC Instance 2 - connecting to Denali Realtime Data / Execution on Rithmic 2 (with FCM 2),
No Live Data* Machine 1: SC Instance 3 - connecting to Denali Realtime Data / Execution on CQG 1 (with FCM 3).

Or I tried to connect the first two SC instances on 1 machine and tried to connect the 3rd SC instance on the Machine 2 but again could not connect the 3rd SC to live data.

It looks like the third independent SC instance, whether on the same machine or another machine does NOT connect until I disconnect one of the first two SC instances.

---

So, I would like to distinguish and define the word "systems / computers" under the default option that says 2-systems.
From my experience above, it looks that 2-systems means 2 independent SC instances connection to a live Denali data, whether on the same machine or on 2 different machines one connection per computer(?).

If the above is true, does it mean that I just have to add an additional 3rd system/computer for $12/month at which point I will be able to login to 3rd SC instance,
whether on the same machine (installation from independent folder) or a second machine?

And if so where do I go to signup for additional Denali exchange data to overcome the exchange limitation of max 2 connections? I can't seem to find an option on the services page.

Again, sorry for the confusion, just trying to connect 3 independent SC instances to use with 3 independent Data/Trade Services settings.

Many thanks.

I conducted 2 sets of tests and here is what resulted:

Test 1 on Machine 1 / Running SC version 2115:
----------------------------------------------
Connected to Denali Live Data SC Instance 1
Connected to Denali Live Data SC Instance 2
CAN'T connect the Third SC Instance - I need to disconnect one of the above to connect the 3rd. Issue: CME 2 max connections limitation? Solution > Pay for another Denali Live Data. Where can I do that?

Test 2 on Machine 2 / Running SC version 2261:
----------------------------------------------
Connected to Denali Live Data SC Instance 1.
CAN'T connect another SC Instance on the Machine 1 at all. I can't seem to be able to connect 2 separate machines with even only one SC instance on each
but I can connect up to 2 SC Instances on the first Machine at the same time.

Is using different Versions of SC creating any issues perhaps?

Thanks a lot.

Hi everyone,
i am currently in demo (Service Package 11 - Advanced + Denali Data Feed) and I have delayed data with market depth.

I am opening a real account with AMP futures and at first I would like to do only "top of the book bundle".
It is possible to install 2 Sierra, the first one with the DELAYED DATA where I see market depth (like now), and the second one linked to my real account with top of the book REAL TIME data?

I would do so to see (even if 10 minutes late) the distant levels of the book, paying only the top of the book. (saving cost in the beginning.. small micro account)

sory for bad english, i'm using google translate :)

Thank You!

It is possible to do what you are wanting.

For the real-time data, just make sure you setup everything as normal. When you get setup with AMP you will need to go through the proper setup instructions depending on what order routing service they set you up to use (it will be either CQG or Rithmic).

For CQG, follow these instructions:
CQG Trading Platform Service: Setup Instructions

For Rithmic, follow these instructions:
Rithmic Trading Platform Service: Setup Instructions

--

You will then need to setup the Denali Exchange Data Feed by following the instructions at this link:
Denali Exchange Data Feed: *Setup Instructions: CME/CBOT/NYMEX/COMEX Exchanges*

--------------------

Then, to install a second Sierra Chart, you will follow these instructions:
Using Multiple Data and Trading Services at the Same Time: Step-By-Step Instructions to Install Multiple Copies of Sierra Chart

This second one will get the delayed data, in which case you do NOT want to connect this to your trading account. You need to leave the service set to SC Data - All Services.

But, in order to get the delayed data, you need to set Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds to No.
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:
