Hi support,

Sierra v1951

I have an intermittent problem with the 'Studies' window not appearing, after which I am not able to interact with the main window and must use task manager to close down the application.

This only seems to happen when the main program window is on a monitor attached to my secondary graphics card.
I would assume that the 'Studies' window is hiding off screen somewhere?

Thanks.

It would not seem likely the studies window is offscreen. Also, the positioning of that dialog is controlled by the operating system. Most likely the issue is what is described here:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.40 - Dialog Windows Do Not Display (30.40 - Dialog Windows Do Not Display)

You just need to press the escape key when you notice this condition to get out of that state.

Hi support,

No success with the escape key, I was still unable to interact with the window in any way, but the chart continued to update and otherwise behave as expected.

I am not sure this is a resource issue as today I have far fewer windows open / program running.
Total CPU usage is ~10%, process CPU usage <0.5%
Total memory usage <20%, process memory usage is negligible.

Not sure of the relevance, but it is possible that this issue is isolated to 1 particular sub-instance, that only contains a single chartbook/chart.

Is there anything else I can try at my end, or do I just put it down to being Win7 related and persevere?

We have not heard before anyone having trouble closing a nonvisible dialog with the Escape key.

The resource issue is not related to memory or CPU usage. It is some other resource issue within the operating system.

We will get this resolved but it is not likely until the end of the year. Very sad such a problem exists in the Windows operating system.
