I'm having trouble receiving Polonienx data.

Data has stopped updating

It's like the whole connection is down- When I try to populate the "get symbols" list nothing with load.

There is a problem with the Poloniex data feed from the source we get it from. This is not within our control. We cannot provide further help with this.

The feed is again down for more than a week. And overall it is quite unreliable: this year it was interrupted several times and the gaps were never filled. Are there any plans to fix this?

Sierra Chart Engineering - Posts: 104368
No. The data feed is provided through a third-party. We might as well just remove it.

At this point we are delisting Poloniex and also delisting Bitfinex. Consider both of those unsupported and unavailable at this point in time.

We will shut it down permanently at the end of the year.

Will Sierra Chart consider other third-party data provider?

The AIcoin https://www.aicoin.net.cn/?lang=en, their data source is really stable and fluent, including all the main trading platfrom.

Hope you consider to relist Bitfinex and other platform.

Thank you.

The data of symbol bchusd and eosusd of bitfinex is missing now, so hope you consider the third-party data source.

If I provide the XML data file from the third data provider Aicoin, can you add the data to sierra chart server?

Thank you.

Support for Bitfinex has stopped. We are not willing to provided any further support for it. We are not going to consider any third-party data sources unless they support the DTC Protocol:
https://dtcprotocol.org/

Refer to our post number 27 here:
Crypto Currency Development Plans

Sierra Chart is not going to be any longer a program which is going to be supporting various different external services other than for those services which support the DTC Protocol in a reliable way. And they do not even have to support historical data over DTC, we will maintain the history for any crypto currency exchange. And that is always how we want to do it. We will always maintain the historical data for the exchanges.

We have been steadily working on all of the functionality for a proper high-performance exchange, and that is what we intend to offer as soon as we can.

Really appreciate for your help.

As you mentioned the DTC Protocol, I found something in the link https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/DataTradingServiceProviderIntegrationWithSierraChart.php.

It says, Sierra Chart can also integrate to your Data or Trading service using the following message/communication protocols and data formats: FIX, HTTP, JSON, XML, proprietary or comma delimited data formats.

So, without DTC Protocol, will you still support data feed by HTTP?

I have contacted the third-party data provider AICOIN, they can do the HTTP way. And I will pay them for the data service.

If I pay the data service, will everyone using Sierra Chart can access the data feed from AICOIN?

Thank you.

By the way, the third-party data source is not cheap, If the third-party AICION support the DTC Protocol, will Sierra Chart consider to pay for thier data feed serivce?

They really would need to use the DTC protocol. We can also support a websocket connection using DTC JSON messages.

Yes and we can pay for it, but we need to discuss terms with them first. Have them initiate communication to us to support _at_ sierrachart.com.

We do not know anything about AICOIN (https://www.aicoin.net.cn/). But if they are good programmers, and want to create reliable interfaces which are maintained, between exchanges and the DTC Protocol using whatever supported encoding method they want, then we would be happy to work with them and pay them.

Can you tell us what exchanges you want market data from and we can look at just going direct to those exchanges and seeing what we can do to improve integration to the ones we already work with , other than BitMex which is already direct and stable.

Regarding AIcoin, we did communicate with them some by Skype but when we asked them about pricing they did not answer us. They say they can support any real-time data format we want.

I was following this thread, and I think we all agree that the exchanges need to settle on the same protocol.

@SC:
There are other reliable and high-quality providers of aggregated data-feeds and trading integration:
https://developers.shrimpy.io/
https://www.coinapi.io/

It would be appreciated if you could reach out to them directly for providing the DTC protocol.
