How can I automatically update all charts' symbol settings from one service to another without manually updating each chart window, in each chartbook?

You can use Edit>>Translate Symbols to Current Service, a recently added feature. You will probably need to do it on every chart, but it is easier than opening chart settings and doing it there.

That's excellent! When I tried it, it didn't work for some reason. I was previously using CTS symbols, and connected to CQG login now (no real-time, only historical), and selected that feature but the symbols did not update.

Ok if you are still having a problem just confirm the symbols are correct. Refer to:
Data/Trading Service Connection and Symbol Issues: 1.3. Symbols

And if you are still having an issue after that, contact your broker for help because clearly your account is not authorized for the real-time data.

We will make sure the Associated Watch List for the chart is supported when using Edit>>Translate Symbols to Current Service.

Can you also enable auto-rollover of expired symbols in the Associated Watch Lists?

This is already supported. The command for it is under the Symbols menu of the Associated Watch List window.

Translation from SC Data to Teton changes all my charts that I spent a lot of time on. Symbol on SC Data: ESH25-CME & the Teton Symbol is: ESH25_FUT_CME; i believe this is the issue. It changes all my charts and market generated information. Is there an easy solution to this?
1. Can I just translate one chart (the onne I trade off of), & leave the rest of the charts untranslated?
2. Manually change each chart?: What all did it change? Too much to do manually for several chartbooks & multiple charts on each I suspect.
3. What other options are there?

Using the "Translate Symbols to Current Service" should not have any effect on the actual chart itself and what is displayed and how it is displayed. This is true in general when changing the symbol.

What exactly is occurring that you say your charts are different besides the symbol itself?

1. You can just translate one chart, but then you will not be getting data or the ability to show orders on the other charts. Basically the other charts that are not translated are then useless. So you really do need to translate all of them.

2. There is no difference between manually changing the symbol and using the option to "Translate All Symbols to Current Service". The end result is the same.

3. None.

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to provide feedback on my recent experience with Sierra Chart, specifically regarding the conversion of SC Data to Teton and the subsequent adjustments needed for chart settings.

Issue Summary:
Global Settings Adjustment:
When changing the symbol, Sierra Chart modifies the chart symbol settings and global session times. This requires manual verification to ensure each chart aligns with my specific settings.
Time-Intensive Process:
The manual adjustment process took several hours. I have completed this for two chartbooks for ES and need to repeat it for NQ and other chartbooks to evaluate if similar adjustments are necessary.
Initial Problem:
Conversion from SC Data to Teton previously caused CPU overloads and system freezes. Identifying and addressing the root causes took additional time.

Step-by-Step Solution:
Reboot and Setup: Uncheck "Load Charts" during reboot.
Data Service Conversion:
Disable the data service.
Convert the data service.
Load one chartbook at a time, enable the data service, and adjust the settings for each chart.
Save As New Chartbook:
Save the modified chartbook under a different file name, such as "Teton."
Open a new chartbook, apply necessary settings, and save it.
Repeat this process for each chartbook.
Adjust Load Settings:
Update "Load Chart at Boot" files to reflect the newly created chartbooks.

Request for Improvement:

I kindly request that you consider implementing a feature that allows data routing service translation from SC Data to Teton to be processed on a single chart. This enhancement would significantly streamline workflows and improve overall efficiency.

Thank you for your attention to these matters. I look forward to any updates you might provide.

Best regard
