Problem with fresh newinstalation of Sierra

Hello support,

I am configuring brand-new laptop for trading and have downloaded and install the latest version of Sierra Charts. However, there are two issues I am dealing with (never had this problem on new installation before):


1. I am not able to start Sierra platform in order to configure my brokers connection parameters. It starts the main login screen (please see attached image) and if I try to enter either Sierra login credentials or my Broker Credentials it returns a message that the account and password are incorrect and does not start the platform. I have also copied the Sierra3.cfg file from my old system so not sure if this is what is causing the problem. I just need to bypass the initial main login screen, start the platform and configure my broker access within the platform.

2. While the installation of SC appears to be successful, I do not see the Sierra Chart program icons on the Start menu (any and all other installations I have done prior to this one, the Start menu would have the icons for Sierra displayed). This is a minor inconvenience since I can start the Sierra directly from the folder but I was wondering why the program shortcuts are not placed on the Windows Start menu?

I am running Win 10 Professional 64-bit.

1. Refer to the Login Problems section here:

You would need to use the same login details that you used to login to the Support Board.

2. When running the installer make sure to enable "Add Start Menu Shortcut".

I am pretty certain that I use correct login details that I specify to login to the Support board. The message I receive back states the following: "Sierra Chart Login error: Timeout Error. There was no response.". This cannot be an internet connection problem because I am posting this message from the same machine without any issues and I am able to login using other platforms.

I also have "Add Start Menu Shortcut" checked along with "Add Desktop shortcut" options on the installer (this is default). However, the desktop icons are created successfully but Start menu icons are not.

Regrading the login issue, refer to the HTTP Communication Errors page:

The most likely issue, is that you have a firewall on your system that is blocking Sierra Chart.

I have White Label Sierra from Infinity on this machine that connects without any issues. Other platforms (as I have stated earlier) also connect with no problem).

Only my direct account with Sierra (new installation) is getting this error. Still, following your recommendation I have deactivated Norton Internet Security and Norton firewall. Still getting the same error when trying to login.

Any recommendations?
