Support,

I've been testing out the platform on SIM, and so far so good, I just have two simple questions:

1) Let's say I'm trading on SIM mode and I put a buy limit order at a certain price with a stop and a target attached, and then I close SC and turn off the computer. When the market hits my price, will I get filled? Will my stop and target be placed?

2) Exact same scenario but trading a live account?

Thank you.

1. No but if you want to trade cash Forex or futures we can offer this capability.

2. In the case of non-simulated trading, the parent order would certainly get filled but how the attached orders are handled is explained here:

Hello,

Could you elaborate further on the attached orders? So if I place my attached order for stop loss and take profit in addition to the parent order, then turn my computer off, in what scenarios would the attached order not be placed? Could you elaborate what you mean when it says historical indication of a fill

There is not much more we can say with regards to the Attached Orders as it depends on the trading service you are using. You would need to check with your broker/trading service to see if they support what you are wanting to do.

Where is the statement about "historical indication of a fill"?

The Attached Orders will only be submitted to the external trading service, or to the Sierra Chart Trade Simulation system if Trade Simulation Mode is enabled, when there is a notification of a fill of the parent order. This would be considered a real time notification. The Attached Orders are not sent when there is some historical indication of a fill like an order status update that is received later on the order after connecting to the Trading service. For example, if an order filled when Sierra Chart is not connected to the Trading service, and there is some historical indication of a fill, then the Attached Orders will not become active on that type of indication.

The above paragraph is from your attached orders link.

I am using Rithmic. My question is if I place an attached order (parent limit order + take profit + stop loss) then turn Sierra chart and my computer off, will the order still go through? It stated above that it might not if there is a historical inidcation of a fill.

The reference to the "historical indication of a fill" is stating that attached orders would not be sent if there is an indication of an order fill from a previously submitted parent order. In other words, you need to send the attached orders with the parent order. This is not something you would typically need to worry about.

We can not speak to how Rithmic handles the OCO orders or Bracket orders. You need to check with them on this.
