Hello,

There seems to be a bug in the Numbers Bars Study. I have configuration where my numbers are coming in 2nd column. It seems that background/highlighting for 2nd column is using values from In:91 instead of In:92.

In my v1870 In:91 is "Column 1 Percent Compare Thresholds" and In:92 is "Column 2 Percent Compare Thresholds". Hopefully it is just copy-and-paste type of bug.

Thanks

Hello,

Please take a look at In:71 ("Highlight Point of Control") of the Numbers Bars study in provided chartbook. In my configuration (where I present data in 2nd column only at the moment) the only way to highlight POC is to use "All Columns" value. I would expect "Column 2" to work for me, but when I use this value highlight of the POC just disappears. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks and Best regards.

Both of these issues are related to the fact that you only have Column 2 active. Internally, the system only knows that there is 1 column On and therefore thinks of it as Column 1, even though the selection was for Column 2.

This is why the Percent Compare Thresholds are using Column 1 instead of Column 2. If you displayed any information for column 1, then everything will shift and use the inputs as you are expecting them. The same is true for the Highlight Point of Control where the other option would be to select Column 1 instead of All Columns and you would see the highlight even though you had selected the display as Column 2.

This is not something we will get to any time soon to change internally, and it will take a bit of work. The easiest thing to do is to simply use Column 1 whenever you only want to display a single column of information.

Thank you John for quick reply.

I still feel that in this particular case behind the scenes system is trying to outsmart the user. Perhaps better wording for parameter names and values would help folks like me in this case. Reflecting this logic in documentation to the Numbers Study [ Numbers Bars ] will help as well

Best regards
