Hey Guys, I was just wondering is it difficult to make synthetic spread charts on here like say between the cac and the eurostoxx . also for futures marktets coming out of an overnight auction like say the gilt at 8am is there no indicative "white box" to give you an idea what price the market will open at?

Refer to this page:
Custom Calculated Symbols

And you can look at the Current Quote window for the current bid and ask prices:

thanks for the links there, but i dont understand why theres no auction price indicitive box just before the gilt opens as there is for the btp or the foat....the current quote window is not really sufficient if i want to place an order in the auction off the cash open.

And in relation to that is there a automation or excel function that can link from the current price say out of cash trading hours can be overlayed onto say a tpo profile chart that shows only the cash session. Does that make sense?

We are not understanding this.

ok so for example its 10 minutes until the S&p cash market opens. If I want to superimpose a line thats linked to the current traded price of the s&p onto a tpo chart for the cash session only. I can see where the s&p is now trading in relation to yesterdays tpo profile. In todays instance its opening up, so there would be a link from the current traded price onto a cash session only chart showing that the open is out of ydays range and balance. This would probably be done from a link through excel I expect. Such as the rtds in TT.

I hope thats clearer?

Cheers

This can be done with the Current Price Line study on the source chart and then overlaying it using this study:

this works great on the european bond futures open for the btp and foat, but not for the gilt at 8....theres no auction price for the gilt. is this just an aberation or can i alter the settings? And I was wondering is there a way to see which contract months are doing how much volume to see when to change contract month to trade...

cheers
