Hello and thank you for creating such a great trading platform. My question is when using your flex renko bars, in this instance im using 6-3-3, I notice that many times during the day ill have a bar that far exceeds 6 ticks....actually some bars that exceed 6-10 points and then repaint after they close, I haven't seen this behavior with other platforms and just want to make sure I don't have a setting or refresh rate set incorrectly, I am using a setting of fill gap bars except start of day, and new trend bar when range exceeded/ new reversal bar when reversal amount met and chart update 10ms I have tried everything that I know. I've attached pictures. thank you

This is explained here:
Number Of Trades, Volume or Range Bar Charts Do Not Match Setting or Are Not Accurate or Are Inconsistent: Last Bar in Chart Exceeding Range

And the solution is given in that section which is to use a tick by tick data configuration.

I have the same problem with the tick by tick data configuration.

You could not have the same problem. This does not make technical sense.

Thank you for your reply and I apologize for leaving that out in my original post...but I was using tick by tick data as shown in attachment.

I've read all the documentation and would not waste your time unless I was really stumped, I know we will figure this out. I really appreciate the great support here!

Thank you

Can you provide that chart by following these instructions here:
Support Board Posting Information: Providing Chartbook with Only a Single Chart

And can you let us know the time zone you have Sierra Chart set to.

Really what we wanted and linked to was providing the actual Chartbook file containing that chart.

Anyway, we reproduced the settings you are using and we ran a replay and could not reproduce the problem and when we look at the chart image and look at the last bar, it does appear as though the Intraday Data Storage Time Unit is greater than 1 Tick.

Confirm again you are using that setting and:

Re-download all the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download". You just need to do this once per symbol and not for each chart.

I apologize for not sending the actual chartbook, it is now attached. I have double checked and I am using 1 tick data storage time unit, I have deleted and redownloaded all data as you suggested.
I still have this issue.

Thank you

We definitely cannot reproduce any problem like this even using the Chartbook. This is what we see at the same time:
http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1546654266241.png

So we can ensure that the data has been re-downloaded follow the instructions below:

Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:
Message Log: Clearing the Message Log

Fully re-download the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >>Delete All Data and Download".

After about a minute provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions:

We still cannot reproduce this even when using CQG data. We will need to a remote assistance session to look into this.

hello and thank you for your reply, I clicked "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download" and it fixed problem? I think I may have clicked edit/download data intraday chart by accident which was not fixing the problem. May I ask.... how often should I "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download" to make sure all is working fine? does this happen often? if so what causes it so I can look for it?

thank you so much

Yes we suspected that was the mistake. You only have to fully re-download the data once.

The reason for the issue was that the Intraday Data Storage Time Unit by default is 1 second and then when you changed it to 1 Tick, you need to re-download the data. But once that is done you are all set.

To SC Engineering: Would you consider adding a line to the upper portion of the Message Log showing the current Intraday Data Storage Unit at startup or reconnection? Something like

Intraday Data Storage Time Unit: 1 tick. | 2019-01-10 01:23:45

Thanks.

Just installed 1860 64-bit (25905:25906M) with my Intraday Data Storage Time Unit set at 1 tick, and this was the resultant output in the Message Log.

Intraday Data Storage Time Unit: 0 | 2019-01-11 07:00:53

Could you check and advise? Thanks.
