You should not have to do it several times unless there was some connectivity problems to our Web server. That would be the only issue. The processing of Symbol Settings otherwise is very straightforward and reliable. And also the lookup of symbol settings in the very latest version, also avoids any potential conflict when there are settings for other Services present.

Didn't seem to have a connection issue (as far as I could tell) but maybe with potentially a lot of people doing it at the same time who knows or I did something out of sequence... it is working now as far as I can tell and updating with historical data so all is good. Thank you.

The data seems to work now as expected. Execution is still not working.

I just exited (to backup the folder with the changes) and re-started Sierra. It takes about 3 times as long to load the charts and retrieve the download of the charts. Also the folder size compressed increased at least 2 GB and uncompressed about 8GB. Is all this normal.

In regards to post #28, what we suspect was that maybe you did a Full Reset or an Update and then clicked OK on the Symbol Settings window before that operation completed.

It takes about 3 times as long to load the charts and retrieve the download of the charts. Also the folder size compressed increased at least 2 GB and uncompressed about 8GB. Is all this normal.

In about 20 minutes we are going to release version 1826 which will automatically convert single-digit year symbols to two digit year symbols in charts, when using Gain Capital.

It appears that if using the SC data feed with Gain, there was no issue with the 2 digit year change. My charts loaded fine and I was able to submit orders just fine and see them on the Gain platform with 2 digit year.

When you have more time, maybe you can provide details on how the SC data feed was able to send orders to Gain without issue. Even prior to the Gain change, my log showed symbols being mapped from 1 digit to 2 digit year as so: Mapping 6EZ8 to 6EZ18. Service code: cme | 2018-10-19 15:36:34

Also, while it doesn't seem like I was impacted by this, thank you for your excellent engineering and service. Gain should get an ear full for not notifying you directly with ample lead time.

Regards,
Kevin

Regarding Post #32. I regarding the loading time and folder size... There was no issue prior to the changes made with the GAIN date. After those changes without any other changes It now takes much much longer to load AND the folder size increased 8 additional gigabytes (uncompressed) is that normal for this type of data change.
