It takes 5 minutes for my charts (4) to refresh when I click on a different symbol. It's an I7 desktop with an SSD and 16GB Ram.
What combination or CPU, motherboard, amt of RAM, graphics board, etc would you recommend to get instant charts?
Thanks.

That seems like a ridiculous amount of time with your setup but Without knowing how complex your charts/studies/alerts are how could anyone know? Are you loading years worth of data on your charts?
I use an I5, SSD and 16GB of RAM and have almost instantaneous performance (11 charts displayed and 10 charts on tabs). The slowdown on my end isn't SC or my PC, it's the download of historical data on my charts that go back for long time periods. My trading charts with 14-30 days of data load almost instantly.

Scott,
I DO have historical profiles that go back 10 years on some charts.

For the fastest data loading you will want to use the new M2 NVME SSDs.

Can you please tell me where that data is stored as I am running out of room on my current SSD.
Thanks again.

You can change the Data Files Folder under the General Settings -> General 1 Tab

See here for details: General Settings Window: Data Files Folder (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Paths >> Files and Folder Paths)

Yes, in the Data Files Folder as mentioned in the prior post.

You can also delete any unneeded Intraday data files from there. They have a scid file extension.

I have been exploring options for a new computer. I have a 500mb internet connection and my charts are taking over 10 minutes to load. Will that fast SSD drive solve all these slow loading problems?

Refer to help topic 30:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often
