Hi SC Support

Following the documentation, I have created a Spreadsheet with Buy Entry (column K) and Sell Entry (column M) formula.

Chart showed Green buy arrows and Red sell arrows at where I thought they should be.

I followed documentation to conduct a Bar Based Back Test. The following problems have happened
a) Chart to which the Spreadsheet referenced had a subchart. Subchart no longer exists. I have tried closing and re-opening the chartbook, and the sub chart no longer exists
b) there are no buy / sell arrows on the chart
c) when trying to view Trade Activity Log, Trade Statistics, there are no results.

Please advise how to remedy

Thanks

Richard

We do not understand this. We have no idea what you are referring to. This is vague. At this point you are in a better position to answer the issue than we are.

b) there are no buy / sell arrows on the chart
c) when trying to view Trade Activity Log, Trade Statistics, there are no results.
These must be related to the above.

Are you referring to a study within a particular Chart Region within the chart? Post an image of the chart that you are referring to so we can get a better sense of this. Here are instructions:

Thanks for your invitation to post an image of the chart.

Before doing so, I would like to acknowledge a previous response from SC Support that guided me to a document stating words to the effect that Support is not in the business of de-bugging auto-trading spreadsheets. This is not at all my expectation. I understand SC is a high quality product that will take me time and considerable effort to learn to use effectively. Further, I do not want to waste your time.

To that end, I will refrain from posting a chart image until I have resolved 2 issues. Specifically,
a) I am using SC on a MacBook Air via Parallels. I have noticed my PC has only 4GB RAM. Upon investigation I have learnt 8GB minimum is recommended to run Windows10 via Parallels i.e. I need a new PC. In context of the above
- might the low RAM be contributing to my problem?
- please direct me to the documentation to install SC onto my new computer.
b) when I have installed, I will try to set up spreadsheet again, and revert to SC Support only if I encounter the same issue.
Thanks in advance.
Richard

There could be an out of memory condition occurring but if that is the case, you would know because there would be a message in the Message Log about this. Refer to the documentation for this here:
Working With Charts: Out of Memory Condition

However, in this case the chart that is encountering out of memory condition even from a particular study, is going to go completely blank when that occurs.

To install Sierra Chart to a new computer just download it from this page:
Software Download

That page has very thorough documentation as well about this.
