Support, I have read through several threads to setup sending alerts to a twitter account. I have successfully done this by adding a twitter account to my profile under the twitter control panel and enabling the correct settings in the general settings for alerts. I would like to confirm a few conclusions followed up with a couple questions. Are these conclusions correct?:

1) The alert is sent to the twitter profile as a direct message, not a tweet to the public?
2) You cannot send the alert as a public tweet?
3) You cannot modify the alert message with customized text or chart data; the text of the message cannot be modified?

If these conclusions are true, then how do I accomplish the following: (Do I need to code a study in ASCIL or is there another way?):

A) Send Alert as a public tweet?
B) Customize the alert message?

Thank you for your assistance with this.

A bit more reading and I found a few helpful answers. This thread was helpful:

Which syntax do I have to use for Twitter messages?

These instructions were also helpful to enable the User Defined Name Only:

The only question I have remaining is can you add data to the User Defined Name? Such as a cell reference or chat data?

1. This is controllable by you here:

https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=Twitter

At the moment it is setup to Private Direct Messages.

2. Yes. You will need to change the settings for your twitter account on the page linked above to set it Send as Public Tweets.

3.

A. You can do this. Refer to #2.

B. This capability is coming.

You really have to use ACSIL to create your own custom alert messages.:
Advanced Custom Study Interface and Language (ACSIL)
