My SC account with SC Data - All Services does not appear to be able to connect with my broker. I see no balance info from my broker, and if I turn off Trade Simulation mode, my DOM goes yellow to indicate I'm trading live, but when I place the trade, it fills on the SIM account.

I wonder if I entered my broker account info wrongly when signing up for platform / data with Sierra (acct name: *****). When I sign into AMP Futures' control panel, it is ******, but sometimes they put "AC" in front of it: AC******

Here is the message log from startup, and below that is the trade service log from when I attempted to make a live trade. Please note, the trade log looks the same as a question I just posted to the support board under my AMP Futures/SC account (that is my second account with SC, and I have no problem trading live on that account). The link to that support board entry is Flagging to Reload Trades in charts Received a business-level reject message

We see you are using the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed, so you need to have Sierra Chart still set to CQG and that SC Exchange Data Feed will be used while connected to CQG. Here are the instructions for this:

Pardon me, I'm new to SC, trading, all of it. Do I understand you correctly that I'm paying for an SC Platform and SC Datafeed, but that SC can't connect to the exchange, rather it needs me to also have a connection (CQG, Rithmic, whatever)? So to get SC datafeed to work with my broker, I also need to use a CQG connection (or Rithmic, etc)?

If that's the case, what is it that I'm getting by paying for SC's datafeed. When I connect through CQG, it appears to have all the market depth that SC's datafeed has.

Just so I can be clear about my current setup and goals:

I have three connections.
- The first is paid for by me, apart from AMP. This is SC datafeed. I pay for both the platform (pkg 5) and the datafeed independently of AMP. It does not work for live trading, though the setup instructions implied that it would.
- The second and third are affiliated through AMP, where I also pay for the SC Platform again (pkg 5). I have a second SC account provided for me by AMP.

My goal is to use one of the CQG feeds to record tick data and the other CQG feed to replay that data, as well as having backup mobile access / web access. The reason I have two CQG connections is so I can use them both at the same time in separate instances of SC. One instance records my symbols with a higher chart update interval. The other instance has to be CQG as well because CQG uses it's own symbols.

When I go to work, I have time to trade or follow the markets at various points in the day. While the machine at home is using one CQG datafeed to record data, I want to use my SC datafeed at this time at work to live trade or sim trade and leave the third CQG connection untouched and available for backup / emergencies via mobile.

When I set up the SC service & datafeed, the instructions stated that I have to have a funded account with a broker, and that if I did not have a funded account with a broker, I would not be able to trade. Does that not imply that I should be able to trade through my SC datafeed / connection? There was no mention on the SC datafeed setup instructions of needing to have a separate connection via CQG, Rithmic, etc. (that I recall... maybe I am just confusing the terms used).

You just need to connect once a month to your trading service to make the CME happy to be able to use the CME data. Refer to:
Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed: Connecting Only Once a Month to Trading Account to Support CME Group Exchange Fees

It does not work for live trading, though the setup instructions implied that it would.
Clearly it is not possible to use a data feed only service for live trading. What the instructions say is that you need a funded account to take advantage of the lower-priced CME exchange fees. This is all.

But if you have a second CQG connection, you can certainly use that for trading. And if you want to record data in different Intraday Data Storage Time Units, you just need to use another instance of Sierra Chart for that which can use the same connection:
