Hi,

I have sent a message before asking for help to reconnect to data which suddenly stopped working last week on Thursday. It has been almost 5 days since then.

After sending my log, I was told by Sierra support that:

CQG WebAPI | Market data logon unsuccessful. Server message: Unknown client application. | 2018-06-08 07:43:50 *

Your clearing firm really should be able to help you with these issues. We do not have any direct control over these.


I read the section I was referred to and after contacting CQG, they have informed me of the following (regarding my demo account):

The demo expired. They only last 2 weeks and then are recycled. You will need to contact Sierra Charts directly regarding this or an extension on the demo, we cannot alter their demo accounts.

Please contact your FCM/Broker for a new demo of SierraCharts.


Can you please advise me what to do to simply get back to where I was before. I have been unable to use my Sierra Charts free trial effectively because of this.

You need to contact your broker for access to CQG. Only they can help you with that. But their ability to do that might be limited due to exchange rules.

If they cannot give you continued access to CQG, then you can use the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service. Refer to:

I have contacted CQG directly but they have been unable to help and refer me back to your support.

Who is the broker that I can contact for access to CQG? Or are you referring to CQG who I have already contacted in which case there is no use.

Does this issue always occur when you extend the Sierra Chart trial? If so, is there no way that you can make this process smoother for me as I am new to this and it takes up a lot of time?

So it sounds like you obtained a demo account directly from CQG. If so, then get in touch with a supported CQG broker. They are listed here in the first step:

Your Sierra Chart trial access is completely unrelated to CQG. There is no way that any of us can make this process easier. The exchanges are very very determined to make this as difficult as possible for you and everyone.

I didn't obtain a CQG demo account from CQG directly, I was just provided one through Sierra Charts when I signed up for my free trial. This is why I do not understand why it has stopped working for me and doesn't stop working for everyone else?

You must have obtained a CQG account from somewhere. We have no technical ability to provide those from CQG. Our relationship to CQG is only for integration to their API. We do not have any type of relationship to provide accounts.

Our recommendation at this point is to contact one of the brokers listed here:

Hi,

I have finally resolved the issue by contacting AMP and requesting a 14 day data trial.

Can you please confirm the date until which I have free Sierra trial?

Your trial ends 2018-06-29 with Sierra Chart but we can accommodate you as needed in regards to that if you have not been able to use it for 30 days.
