Sir or Ma'am,

Having trouble logging in. Have reviewed the trouble shooting helps and have applied all fixes including:

- Updated software to newest build (1733).
- Turned all firewalls off (both Mac and Windows Firewalls are off).
- Started Windows 10 in Safe Mode with Internet and continue to get same subject error.

I have a second machine and am able to log in using the same set up with the same internet server same account with no problems.

Please help. Thank you.

Even with what you have done, it is still clear that something is blocking the connection on your computer. Refer to:
HTTP Communication Errors

Also the Windows firewall is very unlikely to be causing the problem. Make sure you have disabled any proxy server settings as well. This is done through the "Proxy Settings" button on the Login window.

I am able to ping 69.169.129.231 with 0% of packet lost. If I can get to the server via a command prompt I wander what else would be blocking the connection given I have followed the directions and Windows 10 is in Safe Mode (no firewall).

Any other ideas as I have did everything on the Thread you have suggested including downloading new software. I have also checked other threads and consistently you suggest it is the firewall, but yet in safe mode the firewall is not the issue.

Thank you.

Not sure what server that is but it is certainly not a Sierra Chart server.

And did you disable the Proxy Server settings? This is done through the "Proxy Settings" button on the Login window.

This is the IP at the bottom of your web page (I can send you a screen shot to prove it). Hmmm...

Yes, as I explained in the other post I have completed all the steps as outlined in your Thread including the Proxy Server (I don't have need of them and the other set up in my home does not have them and is working no problem). You all are a cheeky group based on the responses you provide to your customers. Sierra Chart is critical to my operations, so would really love your help, but I can also appreicate you feeling like I am wasting your time or that my reqeust for assitance is below your level of enginneering skill. I wish I didn't need your assistance and didn't have the "timeout" problem, but alas Sierra Charts is important to our operations.

If you have no other recommendations based off your vast experince I will bid you good day (and not waste your time any more). If on the other hand, you have another possible solution I would love you recommending something.

Thank you.

What we are going to do is improve the message, so we can determine precisely what the socket error is. We will have this done by morning.

The next step is we just have to connect to your system and see what we can figure out. We know that the problem is almost certainly on your system itself.

That IP address you see as your own IP which is in Utah.

We have put out a new prerelease. We want you to update to this version by running this installer:
https://www.sierrachart.com/downloads/SierraChartFileDownloader.exe

In the Version list box, select "Prerelease Version".

1. Utilizing the link you provided I download the prerelease (1736) and loaded to my machine.
2. The time it took to get a response was much longer when logging in, but unfortunately the error message was the same as previously reported: Timeout error. There was no response.
3. In speaking with the other traders some have had problems with the 64-bit version that was put out, but not sure that would be an issue here. Note: Under "About" I confirmed my Windows 10 is operating a 64-bit operating system. Note sure this is an issue or even a consideration.
4. I downloaded the prerelease again and ran it again, same error message comes up.
5. Windows is still in Safe Mode and the Apple firewall is confirmed to be off.

3. No, this is not the problem.

5. OK, so you are running the Mac OS and then running Windows on that somehow. The problem must be related to this.

We will see if we can help with this, but we cannot make any guarantee.

Was this ever resolved? I'm trying to run it with Crossover/Wine and I get the same login timeout error. I do not want to run it under a VM like Parallels. Sierra installs fine so it has network connectivity, it just can't login (stuck on Verifying).

Even though the installation was fine, there still is a clear indication there is a network connectivity issue on your side.

One difference between the installation and logging into Sierra Chart is the login does use TLS but even for installing Sierra Chart, there is a request for the version number which we can see uses TLS so not totally sure. But still the timeout error is a very clear indication of a network connectivity issue.
