Global p/l management order error

hello.. in global p/l mngmnt, my loss value was met and i was stopped out of my short position and trading lock was enabled... issue is, there was a long order active afterwards that i did not enter.. i could not flatten the order because the system was locked and i incurred a big loss.. would you please advise what steps to take to have this problem reviewed ?

To unlock trading, when it has been locked, Refer to the instructions here for this:

Yes but we will change this in the next release so you do not have to enable locking but auto trading can be disabled when the Profit or Loss condition has been met in the Global Profit/Loss Management.

We do not need just the Trade Activity Log. We need the specific details requested here:

9. while using my auto trading system with global p/l enabled, i watched a short position get stopped out and the service log open, noting the loss trigger had been hit.. when i looked back to the chart, i saw a single order bar (no targets or stops) that indicated i was long 2 contracts.. i tried to flatten and then realized i was locked when that didn't work.. 60 secs had elapsed and i was able to flatten the position at a loss.

We started to have a look at this. In the Trade Activity Log provided, there is no trading activity for 2018-04-03 .

But one thing to be aware of is that if you had enabled Trade Simulation Mode, the Global Profit/Loss management will only have been functioning for simulated trading accounts and not your Top Step trader account.

first of all, this reply is extremely surprising because it does not address all of the data that i provided.. also, by suggesting that perhaps i enabled sim mode is like saying 'maybe it was all a dream' and i was not aware of my actions.. let me add, my hand was nowhere near my mouse until i tried to flatten this order.. i was in 'live' mode, in ts trader and my 'live' account went over the daily limit due,in part, to this phantom trade.. there is no mention of switching to sim in item #9.. here are some questions please...

1. why did the platform create a tal for that day if there was 'no trading activity' ?
2. does your platform recognize ts trader 'live' trades as such in the tal ?
3. is it possible the tal i provided was copied or sent incorrectly and is empty as a result ?
4. what do you make of the order info i provided in #7 & 8 ? that was info for the phantom order taken off your platform log that was in series with other 'live' trades for 4/3/18.

The problem is we simply cannot see the order activity you are referencing. It does not even exist.

It seems though you may have provided a backup trade activity log. You also provided two of them. We only need one.

You need to provide the Trade Activity Log file in the main Sierra Chart folder.

hello.. not sure how your billing for these reviews works so i wanted to ask.. just wanted to ask if i could get an estimate of time billed if it's going to go over the $20 taken already.. i'm somewhat certain the issue wasn't an error i caused, but i also didn't want you to do hours of work i will be billed for after the fact..

We have not billed anything for this. And whatever amount you paid is on your services balance and will remain for future use of Sierra Chart. Just give us another couple of days to look this over. We think we see what happened.

The time so far is only about 15 minutes. But we will not charge for this. We also spent about another 20 minutes working on internal logging improvement within Sierra Chart to make some of the messages more descriptive.

We can now explain what has happened.

Your automated trading system submitted Attached Orders with the parent order.

These are server-side attached orders. The global Profit/Loss Management, sent a cancel request for the orders and a market order to flatten the position. However, the existing Attached Stop orders filled at the same moment and could not be canceled. This is why you ended up being long 2.

and the plot thickens.. since this appears to be a coincidental issue, if i could ask some follow up questions before i forward this info to my programmer ?

1. i recently upgraded to v1689 from, at least, a year prior version.. were there updates in the global p/l functioning that we need to be mindful of in regards to this issue ?
2. will there be any future sc changes to global p/l due to this issue ?

1. No.

2. Not directly. However, what we will do in the next release is add support for this setting to work with a Flatten Position order that is submitted outside of a chart:
Global Trade Settings Windows: Hold Market Order Until Pending Cancel Orders Are Confirmed (Global Settings >> General Trade Settings >> General)

So when you have this option enabled it will prevent the problem.

i see, that looks like a good solution.. i'll be sure to enable it.. not having to enable lock trade will be nice as well.. my programmer said this occurrence is extremely rare so i'm confident moving forward.
