Due to increased Btimex prices, I increased my chart tick size to 8 points

Here's XBTUSD on old flex renko (5-4-1, new bar when exceeded), and new (5-4-1, third setting), fill all gaps

Old chart excellent, bars OK, bar open close aligned with price.

New chart awful
*price not aligned with the scale
*some bars are separated by 8 points, other by 16
*if you select "price display format" to 1 , chart will lock up.

Can you imagine the work this forced Renko update is bringing on you and on us ?

This just simply relates to a floating-point comparison issue due to the nonstandard configuration.

We are figuring out the most stable solution. This may be seemingly simple but to do this properly is not so simple because when there are actual tick sizes which do not correspond to the Value Format you are using, it leads to scenarios which are not contemplated and preventing new bars from being formed. And it is necessary to do formatted comparisons, otherwise floating-point error can and does lead to problems.

This is because we care to do things properly. There were issues previously that needed to be resolved. This is with absolute certainty. We have the full perspective, you do not. And the new Renko bars offer numerous modes which were not previously supported including the ability to show gaps. The new Universal Renko Bars which have been renamed, now work fully properly in all cases. Previously they were not.

The new code is properly structured and maintainable. We make absolutely no apologies here and our position is firm and as we said before we are willing to lose business over this. But that really is not going to be the case because any legitimate issues will be resolved and are resolved.

We should not be underestimated here.

The last issue that was raised simply involved the lack of millisecond time stamping for filler bars, and actually we realized that needed to be applied to other variable time frame bar types. So other bar types were improved related to that and this is all done in a proper unified way. This was something that was missing in the program for years.

Also we do not know what you mean by this:

*price not aligned with the scale

If you check the previous version, top/bottom of each bars ends up perfectly on the price scale (see horizontal line).
On the new version, it's not the case. Most bars are a few pixels above/below the price scale line (horizontal line)

For Renko bar alignment, refer to:
Renko Bar Charts: Opening Price for First Renko Bar and Alignment (Aligned Renko Bars)

The data loading issue, was resolved in 1663.

The issue with gaps between Renko bars is resolved in 1664.

Both of these were simple rounding issues that have been properly solved. They involved nonstandard tick sizes and related to the Price Display Format being set in a way which was not consistent with the true tick size.

Any genuine issues will be resolved. And we have done that.

We have also added even another operating mode requested here:
Aligned Renko [New Trend Bar] selection not working current ver

Sierra Chart also has the ability to support displaying gaps in Renko bar charts at any point. There is no one out there who supports that. At least not to our knowledge. It was actually the capability to support gaps, which led to the problem where you saw the separation between the Renko bars greater than the amount you have specified for flex Renko bars. There was just a small rounding issue there.

So yes, yet another Renko issue, but easily solved, because the code base is well structured and maintainable. And yet a new mode added to allow a wide range of support to meet the needs of users. And all fully documented!

We need to support a broad base of users and be able to maintain the code base, react quickly to any problems and have all aspects of Renko bars fully documented. This is what we have achieved here.
