If there are two chart drawings that are close together or overlapping: 1) By left click + ALT tab, select the chart drawing (1). 2) Right click the same chart drawings (1). Then occur selecting chart drawings (2) and should be (1). The issue is that only one chart drawing can always be modified, regardless of which drawing was previously selected. |

This is not clear for us. Here is the relevant documentation: Chart Drawing Tools: Converging Drawings The procedure you are using is not according to the documentation. Using Alt-Tab is for switching applications on Windows. It is not used for chart drawings. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Sorry for a mistake. It was about using the Alt key and left click. Alternatively, in a location where there are multiple converging drawings, if you press the Alt key on the keyboard and left click in an area where multiple drawings converge, one of the drawings will then be selected and identified by small circles along the drawing. Repeat this process to cycle through the drawings. In this particular case, release the Alt key and left click again on that same location to perform a Move of the drawing.
It works fine if i want to move the selected drawing using left click, after release the Alt key. The issue there is if i want use eg. the "Cut Drawing Here" from the Chart Drawing Shortcut menu, after release the Alt key. Steps to the issue: 1) Draw first any Line. 2) Draw any Rectangle that overlapping this Line. 3) Using the Alt key and left click, select the Line. 4) Right-click on the Line for select "Cut Drawing Here" from the Chart Drawing Shortcut menu. 5) The selection changes to the Rectangle, and should remain on the Line. |

What you want to do is not supported. The documentation does not even explain this.

But it worked in previous versions of SC. Can you restore / do support for this functionality? It should not be difficult. I very often use "Cut Drawing Here" for the Extending Rectangle and the Horizontal Ray that is on the top or bottom edge of this rectangle. Now, i have problem with this because i have to first delete the rectangle for cut the line, a next again draw a new rectangle, and cut them. |

Yes, this has worked perfectly in the past but now does not always work as expected. Using the Alt key and left click in an area where multiple drawings converge (a cluster of drawings), one of the drawings will then be selected. Continue to hold the Alt key down and left click to cycle through the drawings. I use this to cycle through the cluster until the desired drawing is selected. Once selected, I should be able to double click to open the Drawing Properties window OR right click to choose any valid selection on the Chart Drawing Menu (Chart Drawing Properties, Cut Drawing, Etc). It seems to skip to another chart drawing from time to time, not stay on the one actually selected, when you double click or right click. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2017-10-31 23:47:02

Not sure how this worked in the past, because it required extensive work to implement support for the right-click menu operation on a selected drawing but it is now done and will be out in the next release.

WOW! I've been looking for something like this for a long time. Where is the documentation on this functionality? I want to read more about this. |

I read that entire link. I didn’t see anything that referenced ALT key and left click for selecting overlapping drawings. Where is this discussed? |

We have no idea what the original poster was referencing at that time. There is no option for using the ALT key to select between drawings.

OK, well - the ALT Key functionality works great. It's SUPER helpful - you have no idea just how helpful. Whatever programming is allowing this to work, please do not change it.
