No. You need to ask TD Ameritrade about this. We will provide zero percent help with this.

to me this looks like a SC bug!
No not at all.

This explains why SC's might be different than others:

@tomgilb.. thanks for the link. Reading this in the first paragraph Sierra Chart says this.. "What we have found is comparing to a known good data feed, which ours is as well, you will find that the Sierra Chart TICK market statistics have lower and higher extremes."

I have not found this to be the case and am wondering why. I have recently seen posts by a few traders where the TICK has exceeded +1000 or -1000 by a significant amount yet this did not occur in Sierra Chart. Any comments regarding such would be appreciated.

Thank you.

What we said is in relation to comparing to the DTN IQ Feed standard TICK calculation symbol.

. I have recently seen posts by a few traders where the TICK has exceeded +1000 or -1000 by a significant amount yet this did not occur in Sierra Chart.
If you see this in another source with the NYSE TICK, then it is wrong. We have looked at this too many times to come to any other conclusion. Our confidence keeps getting higher and higher that others are providing faulty data. There can be no doubt about that.

And if you are looking for greater extremes, use the symbol TICK-NYSE_NASDAQ_NYSEMKT

nope, i gave up
Good.

The simple truth of all this is you have no idea what the hell the others are doing in regards to their TICK calculation. You are just looking at a number without any basis whatsoever. Is that what the hell you want? That does not even make any sense. At this point we are openly calling everyone else faulty if they are differing from us. That is the basic truth.

And we say this with massive overwhelming confidence at this point in time because as has been examined so many times and because we match precisely with DTN IQ Feed with their standard TICK calculation except differ at certain points in time where we have a more extreme reading because clearly they are using a sampling method at least that's what it looks like.

Thanks for the further explanation. Hopefully you realized I was not saying your data was wrong.. but just seeing so much differing information when it comes to the TICK, especially at the times when the tick goes extreme. I have seen posts of +/-1400 and always wondered. Though it is good to know that Sierra Support/Engineers take this and their product so seriously. I am glad I made the switch to Sierra Chart recently and not looking back.

To Sierra Charts:

Is it accurate to say, if I trade ES the TICK-SP is a better indicator to monitor than the TICK-NYSE?

In response to post #11, common sense would say that this would be the case but ultimately this is a judgment you have to make.
