Replay function freezes

SC:
I have had the function for the reply freeze on two separate computers since I did my last update. I am running version 1586. It just sits there and the windows circle icon spins and the replay control window says (not responding). Then the only way to close that window is to use the 'end task' function in windows

Why is this happening?

This is not something we would expect.

We need to know the steps that you performed before this condition happened.

And are you replaying just one chart or all the charts in the Chartbook?

We may need to get your Chartbook to test this.

Where would you like for me to send you my chartbook. I will send you the whole thing.

I think in all the years I have used Sierra Charts, this is the first time I have had any part of it freeze like this. All the other charts seem to keep working fine. It is just the replay screen that freezes and gives the circle icon. The charts that I am trying to replay, just sit there and keep updating, but, the replay screen doesn't work and says (not responding) running window 10 on both puters.

Doing this could freeze the user interface for a few seconds at a time with higher Speeds. But not continuously.

When you see Sierra Chart in a frozen state, press the Stop button 2 times on the Replay window to see if you can stop the replay.

It is good see that someone else has experienced this. I think it is an issue with the replay function. Also, remember, it has happened to me on both of my computers at different times when I try the replay function. Also, note, that it does not happen every time. Also, note the only way I could get the spinning circle to stop was to use the windows function to "end the task".

It freezes only the replay screen and not for just a few seconds, it just sits there with the circle spinning and replies that the replay screen is not responding.

SC: The replay function just froze again. Also, note I can't press the stop button like you instructed above because it is not highlighted. It just remains grey. I even tried pressing it and still nothing. I just get the windows circle icon and the replay function remains froze. The only way to stop the freeze of the replay is to use the windows end task under the task manager

We do not need any further information at this time.

We are not sure of the cause and cannot reproduce it but we should figure it out in the coming days. The only other thing at this time we suggest is to run Sierra Chart in Safe Mode and see if that resolves the issue.

We still have not been able to reproduce the problem or know what the cause is.

We do apologize for the issue.

It is going to probably help us if we look at this issue on a users system. Would you be available for us to use remote assistance to look into the problem on your system?

We can set up another copy of Sierra Chart on your system to do it so it does not interfere with anything you are currently doing with your main installation of Sierra Chart.

If you cannot reproduce the problem, then there is no point for us to look at this.

If someone else reports the problem again, then we can look at it with them. We are just waiting for additional feedback. We may already have it resolved by now anyway.

Hi SC support.
I started using replay this week. works fine for small intraday testing. this morning I decided to look at 5000v+100000v+500v and wanted to enter and exit on 100000v chart. I ran it at 10 and place orders at levels, then increase speed to 120. Sierra replay just stalls after first day close (21:00h London time)
I am working with 10y German bund futures data and have only 1 moving average indicator on each chart for the replay.
my sierra charts is on version 1564.

replay charts set for dates 2017/09/11 - 2017/11/30

attached is screen capture of current state.
please note that I stopped replay and tried to start it again but nothing happens. it just hangs. all fine clicking buttons and Sierra is Using 0% cpu processing time.
got windows 7 running. have microsoft security essentials running. got searchindexing disabled as well.
FYI: while typing this message: replay just started working after 10 minutes doing nothing (looks like it got interrupted and just woke up)
have skip empty periods checked

running +- 4 years old AMD machine with 4 cores.
memory on the machine is only on 50% so no issue with the memory while running the replay.
CPU usage is minuscule. but did see that sierra

This is a case where you have encountered a period of time in the chart were there has been no trading or bar data.

Hello.
My problem about replay function is always freez at 8:59:58 and 1x speed.
I tested some version of SC but all of version I tested has same issue on my side.
I play mini Nikkei futures and Nikkei cash open time is 9:00.
There is no problem about over 1x replay speed.

win10
SC ver 1689
One chart book and 8 intraday charts.
I can accept remote desktop.

What you are describing is a different type of condition. This is just a condition where the chart is not advancing because you encountered a period of time where there is no trading.

Nikkei futures open time is 8:45.
So the freeze time 8:59:58 is high volume. Because 9:00 is cash open time.
You mentioned above is not my case.

OK we understand. This was a misunderstanding. This is quite unusual.

Remove all studies from the chart to rule out any possibility a study is causing the problem and replay without any studies on the chart. Studies can be removed through Analysis >>Clean Chart.

"Remove all studies" is works properly. But I need studies.
I reduced "Use Number Of Days To Load" 30 to 20, this is works properly.
My case resolved.
But I don't understand. Does SC hold to memory all loaded chart data including tick and depth when replay?

At present I compromise with below task.
If SC replay reach the time 08:59:58 then SC crash.
So I skip 3 second, before the time reach to 08:59:58.
Once I succeed skip 08:59:58, then works entirely.
I strongly wish to fix this issue.

We are looking into this. Can you tell us the time zone you are using. And also the particular chart number you are replaying. The chart numbers are on the top line of the chart after the #.

So far we were unable to reproduce the problem using chart #5.

Is there a particular Date this happens with?

Re-download all the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download".

OK this explains why we cannot reproduce the problem. Must be some data error probably with the volume or number of trades and causing an excessive amount of processing with one of the studies.

Unfortunately, "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download" works only one time.
After that same issue come again.
Even if Re-download all the data in the chart again.
I reinstalled SC but nothing changed.
