Just discovered today that my orders are getting cancelled and here is the message:

Trading message from IB: Order Event Warning:Attribute 'Outside Regular Trading Hours' is ignored based on the order type and destination. PlaceOrder is now being processed. Error Code: 2109. ServiceOrderID: 6862. | 2017-06-14 12:12:53

Order Error - IB Open Order update. Internal Order ID: 32889. Service Order ID: 6862. Symbol: NQ-201709-GLOBEX | 2017-06-14 12:12:53 *

I haven't changed anything from the IB end, unless of course it did some automatic update.

I did try to enter the order through TWS, and at first it did give an error message, something about how buying an NQ contract was over 100k buying power, so I changed it higher, and then I could enter the order so no further problems through TWS, but Sierra still not working.

Edit: I haven't placed any orders today before the message showed up and the last trade is from a few days ago, so not sure when this problem actually started.

There is no detail provided by TWS as to why the order is giving an error. So you need to ask Interactive Brokers about the reason if you are still having the same problem submitting them from Sierra Chart.

I see. Is the error code 2109 a code from them or from you? In other words, will telling them this code help them out?

This code is from Interactive Brokers but that particular error message is not the problem.

That particular error is already documented here:

As it turns out, the issue was that I had my trade window set to trade a high quantity of contracts from when I was playing around on SIM and clearly didn't change it back. Once the gentleman at IB talked about the initial margin I would have needed to open the position, it all made sense. Since I wasn't able to see the initial order lines with OCO orders on my chart, as the order was never placed on the server, I wasn't cluing in to the fact that I was trying to enter a much higher position.

Its a shame the error message wasn't any more descriptive, and even the IB guys had to end up connecting me to the API experts and have me upload the API log in order to figure out what the problem was.

Good lesson learned though about playing around with settings!
