The price is currently 2408 and the DOM is functioning but Number Bars are frozen at 2405 even after a reload and recalculate.

Thank you

Refer to help topic 3:

Most likely the problem is with the Session Times settings.

So that is what tech support is at SC? Refer me to a page of possibilities?

When I set up the number bars I set them to the exact parameters including tick data, and now they aren't working.

Do I get a rebate on my monthly bill for doing my own tech support?

We cannot know what the problem is from our position. Only you can determine that. All of the possibilities are in help topic 3:

https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/helpdetails3.php

The most likely problem is with the Session Times:

Not with the low prices we offer Sierra Chart for.

Actually we do realize what the problem is and we could have determined that. The problem is the chart is not scrolled to the very end.

Refer to:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/helpdetails3.html#h3.8

We do acknowledge, that there are a lot of possibilities, but it was only likely that about three of them were likely the cause and we should have given you those specific ones.

I had the chart scrolled to the end but did have problems with the number bars extending and the chart not keeping up especially when I had some values displayed at the bottom, they did not line up with the bars. And I never scrolled the chart manually and even if I do, the price value should stay current and correct on the scale, right?

Is there a place to enter a setback so that the bars will stay x number off the right side?

OK is at least the problem now resolved?

If you do scroll the chart back, the current values will not be displayed.

they did not line up with the bars.
This does not really make sense. We would need to see an image of the chart when you see something like this. Here are instructions:

Is there a place to enter a setback so that the bars will stay x number off the right side?
This is explained here:

I was away most the day. The screen was definitely frozen, not scrolled as you suggested.

I am not using Number Bars Calculated Values anymore as they are of limited use in my style of trading but the lower values grids were offset and did not line up with the number bars.

If there still is a problem, then help topic number 3 explains what the possibilities are:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/helpdetails3.php

The page has been updated to list the most common causes in the first set of links. Let us know if you want remote assistance support.

but the lower values grids were offset and did not line up with the number bars.
This could only be the case if you had adjusted the Displacement setting for the related study Subgraphs for this study.

I like the idea behind the number bars and will experiment with different setting but to my mind they are a bit buggy. If I can't work out the bugs I will call or just discontinue using them for a while. I do like SC a lot though, especially the DOM and even though it has an old school appearance, it is highly customizable.

Another problem is that sometimes the number bars jump around on the chart and then again I can have them set at a comfortable level for easy reading and then all of a sudden the scale will expand and the bars will be crushed together, thin and unreadable without me even touching the keyboard and in light volume conditions.

So none of these "common causes" was the problem:

Common Causes

* 3.2 - Invalid Symbol or Invalid Data/Trading Service Selected
* 3.3 - Start and End Times not Covering Current Time
* 3.4 - Not Receiving Real-Time Data From Data Feed
* 3.8 - Not Scrolled to End of Chart

As I was trading a valid contract, my DOM was working(as stated in my first post), and I was not scrolled out.

If it happens again (it kinda screwed with my trading during that mini flash crash in the ES today), I will call support.

One last question please. And no I don't see an answer in any of the documentation.

Is there a way to change the color of the text inside the Volume Profile bars in the DOM from white to black? The numbers are readable in white as long as they are within the volume bars but white text against the color of the window itself is unreadable.

Alright, the cure for the jumpy number bars is to lock the scale, so I'm good with that.

Here is a pic of my issue with the white letter in the volume bars in the DOM:

I take that back. Even with the scale locked the number bars jump around and the visible scale expands. I locked the ES at 2413 to 2418 and it just expanded to 2412 to 2419.50

There are no bugs with Numbers Bars. This is not even possible. The functioning of it is very solid and stable. If you have a specific issue, just let us know what and we will help with that.

Another problem is that sometimes the number bars jump around on the chart and then again I can have them set at a comfortable level for easy reading and then all of a sudden the scale will expand and the bars will be crushed together, thin and unreadable without me even touching the keyboard and in light volume conditions.
Unless we can see exactly what is happening, this does not make sense. Make sure the Scale Range is set to Automatic. Refer to:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/Scaling.html#ResetScales

And here is the documentation to make scale changes:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/NumbersBars.php#Scaling

Is there a way to change the color of the text inside the Volume Profile bars in the DOM from white to black? The numbers are readable in white as long as they are within the volume bars but white text against the color of the window itself is unreadable.
This is controlled with the color settings for this subgraph for the Volume by Price study:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/VolumeByPrice.php#VolumeNumbersTextColorSizeSubgraph

To access the Subgraph settings, refer to:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/VolumeByPrice.php#ColorAndWidthSettings

When using an Automatic Scale Range, it is going to change to fit the highest high and lowest low of the visible bars. There is no way to lock that. The Lock Scale command only locks manual adjustments.

When you have a problem with chart updating, just let us know and we will call and use remote assistance.

So yesterday I went through all the chart settings and in Charts/Graph Draw Types, I had Line on Close checked. For some reason this was messing with the number bars because when I set it to Blank the number bars have remained stable.

Just an FYI in case somebody else has the same problem.
