Hello, My charts are not always updating and are missing data overnight. This happened yesterday and now again this morning. The ES chart stopped updating last night around 10:30pm ET. I had to shutdown and delete all chart data files and then it would update. Most other charts seem to stop updating at 4:30am ET this morning. Selecting "Delete and Download Data" allows the chart to start showing recent data again, but some of them, like HG (copper) are still missing data from 4:30am until I "Delete and Download Data". For the YM, it looked like it was working, but I deleted and downloaded the data and it stopped showing bars after 10:30pm ET. When I ran it again, it stopped showing bars after 9:50pm ET. I am running version 1541 and have Gain Capital for data. thanks, |

You were having connection issues with Gain Capital. This should be resolved by now, and the data restored. Let us know if you are still having trouble. Sierra Chart Support |

Hello, I wasn't dropping connections to Gain or anything else out to the internet that I am aware of. The LastTime field in the QuoteBoard was always up-to-date even when the charts weren't loading properly. My gain capital platform was working properly also. It seemed that the data just wasn't being loaded in to the Sierra charts. Sometimes I would select Delete and Download Data and it would randomly stop at a different time, then if I ran it again, it would work. Here is part of my log pertaining to wheat. I didn't load the chart this morning when I was having problems. When I loaded it today around 12:19pm ET, it only loaded data to last night at 21:49 ET. The logs says that it received 672 records and wrote 0. Then I selected "Delete and Download Data" and then it reloaded and worked. The log then showed that it received 975 and wrote 975 records. I primarily use 1 chartbook and change to the instrument I want to view. It is working now. I'm just not sure it was a connection issue with Gain. I just wanted to point out wheat because it took a couple reloads to get it working. The missing data on wheat did fill in after I submitted my last message. I updated my contact info if you still want to call and look around; however, I'm okay with the letting it go to see if it occurs again tomorrow. Thanks |

We would only be calling if you currently have a problem. We would not expect there to be any problem currently. The origin of the problem must have been some issue with the Gain Capital data feed earlier which would have also affected our historical data collection. Hello, My problem has appeared again. Charts stopped updating approximately 2:00am ET overnight. Some symbols load with no problem, but others require a "delete and download" before filling in the missing data. I will only be available for a call until about 8:30am ET. |

The problem must be that you have gone over the Gain Capital tick by tick data symbol limit. Hello, This is not related to the symbol limit at Gain. I have "unlimited" symbols and the LastTime shows all symbols updating regardless if the chart is working. When I had a problem with the symbol limit initially, the LastTime would not update. See attached file showing ES chart that stopped loading data at 12:50pm ET. I just got home and loaded the chart. The chart I had selected loaded data all day while I was gone, but when I try to load other charts, most of them stop at 12:50pm, but some of them worked. |

The historical data problem for Gain Capital has been resolved. It was a problem affecting one of our servers and we did not catch on to it when we were working on the issue yesterday. We were examining the historical data on the server with a master connection to Gain Capital. The other server, we did not catch on to the fact that the historical data was actually not up-to-date. We were looking for gaps but did not see any.
