I am trying to use this study to simply fill in the space between 2 lines and it is not working. I've followed the instructions step by step. In the image you can clearly see the lines for Today's Open and Yesterday's Close (YC). I added the study subgraphs reference study, chose the 2 subgraphs, put fill top and fill bottom, but it's not filling in the space between the lines. It's like there's some sort of offset or something. Please help.

I had the same problem. It works if you use two different "classes" i.e.

1. Trans.Fill Top
2. Trans.Fill Rect Bottom

or

1. Fill Top
2. Fill Rect Top

From my point of view there is a little bug.

There is no bug.

There is also no way we can have an understanding of specifically what you are doing unless you were to provide us with a Chartbook containing the particular chart. However, please do not do that unless we request it.

The first thing we want you to do is to move the Study Subgraphs Reference study to the last study in the list. Refer to:

Pls take a look on the attached file.

Source for the subgraphs is a spreadsheet.

Idea is to have a fill in green above SG10 and red below SG11

You are not doing this right.

These Draw Styles are meant to be used as a pair.

With what you want to do, you need to use a separate study for SG10 and a separate study for SG11. You could reference those with a Moving Average-Simple study with a Length of 1.

Okay many thanks. I do understand the intention but I do not want a bag full of studies. It works on my (simple but not correct) way :-) :-)

Ok SC Engineering I have moved the study to the bottom and I'm getting the same offset on the shaded area. I'm using the study subgraphs reference and am inputting these 2 lines from the same chart. Today's Open and Yesterdays Close. The filled area is offset up, not left or right so it's not the offset setting.

Could it be the setting that I have the lines drawn? I've tried line, dash, stair step, and others. For the shading I'm using Trans Fill Top and Trans Fill Bottom. I've also tried others.

I've created a chartbook with only this chart in it. The entire chart has 4 indicators. OHLC for Today's Open, OHLC for Yesterday's close, study subgraphs reference, and a vertical line that show's the US Open for the ES. I'm on west coast time. I have the session settings at 6:30am to 1pm PDT.

I know you didn't ask for it but I've attached the chartbook anyway to save a step. It's here if you need it but this should be much simpler than it is. There are many more indicators that are much more complicated that I've worked with that work just like they're supposed to.

Please take a look and let me know how to fix it. Thank you.

Your Scale Setting is the problem. You set it on "independent".

Please take the "Yellow" highlighted option and it works

Thanks a lot for the reply. I changed the scale setting to same as region but nothing is changing. I don't understand what the 'yellow' highlighted option is. Can you elaborate please? Really appreciate it.

Aha! I was changing the scale settings on the chart and not the actual study. Just changed it and it works! I really appreciate your help. Thank you!
