We do see many of these historical data download errors for the local socket connection in the Message Log:

Socket (11) | Initiating close of socket by core. | 2017-03-16 12:02:11
Socket (11) | Graceful close received or receive error. Shutdown complete. Closing socket now. | 2017-03-16 12:02:11
Socket (11) | Closed. | 2017-03-16 12:02:11

This could be caused by a firewall on your computer. Also, in our experience when using Windows it could be caused by your computer system being under a heavy load at the time, especially with file input and output. Not necessarily with the CPU usage.

It might help to update your computer hardware. We do not know the performance of your system.

Dell Precision T3600
Intel Xeon CPU E5-1620 @ 3.60GHz
16.00 GB RAM
Solid State HD

Average memory usage is aprox 3.5 GB

Opening this chart (second instant) results in CPU Usage less than 30%

My other chart in the first instant does not report an error...

It seems OK, but we do know that the error is happening at the operating system level. We would not expect it to be happening though.

In our experience it occurs for one of the reasons we described in the prior post.

I uploaded the message log after I made changes in the windows firewall incoming connections rules.
I basically enabled all Sierra Charts incoming connections. There were some that were disabled. In the log there is also numerous Symbol Errors. Please advise.

The Windows firewall should definitely not have been the cause of the problem but we no longer see any historical data downloading errors in the submitted Message Log.

We do see many error messages like this:
Symbol Error - HGK17 is unknown, unavailable, or improperly formatted. Symbol Error - HGK17 is unknown, unavailable, or improperly formatted. Exchange not authorized. | 2017-03-18 13:20:13

This occurs because your account is not authorized for the exchange that the particular symbol is on. It only means that you will not receive real-time data.

I have uploaded the message log after the first instant is closed, but the second instant is open.
Does the first instant have to be open for the second instant to function properly?
