The output I would like is one column. It would show the whether the diagonally measured bid or offer is larger and highlight it. I have column 1 background type set to "ABDiff Profile" and column 1 background Coloring Method to "Based on askvol bidvol diagonal" difference percentage.

The way I have it set up now does everything fine except when you have a "tie" as in the attached 2 pics. In the left hand column of the attached pic, you have bids of 94,573,1275,667 in the first column and offers of 722,539,996,17. My question is when you get to the row of 1275 bid 996 offer. If you look at it diagonally, 1275/539= 2.365, if you look at 996/667= 1.493. Since 2.365 is greater than 1.493 the bids should have won at the 1257 price and colored it red. Instead, it is colored green.

Could you please explain how you calculate it and what settings I need to use to make it calculate the way I want.

When there is only one winner at a price, everything is fine. Its just when there is both a winner at the bid and the offer diagonally that things don't work well.

Thanks!

The calculations are fully explained.

Refer to 9 here:
Numbers Bars: Numbers Bars Background Coloring Methods

And to:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/NumbersBars.php#AskVolBidVolDiffPercentageColoring

The documentation explains all of this including how to set the Column # Background Type Input. That is the real reason for the problem.

We will see why it is you see the color that you do. It does not seem right, but it might not be so easy for us to solve because the coloring method you are using was not meant to be used with a particular Background Type you have selected.

When using your suggestion, can you have the option of having one color when the following occurs:

"Note: Ask Volume and Bid Volume Diagonal Difference Percentage is similar except the Bid Volume at one price level is compared diagonally to the Ask Volume at the next higher price level. Due to the diagonal comparison, the Bid Volume and Ask Volume at a single level could both be considered dominant. Therefore, the Bid Volume text/background and the Ask Volume text/background can both have dominant coloring. Also, in this particular case, it is necessary to set the Column # Background Type to Background on Dominant Side to be able to see two different dominant colors for the background."

When the above situation occurs and you have two colors, could you enable the option to assign only one color of the most dominant in percentage terms instead of showing two colors? In other words, you are showing the most dominant of two dominants at a single price.

The closest you can get to this is to use Numbers Bars Text Type #8:

The way to do this with the latest Numbers Bars version is to set the Background Type to Full Background.
