Upgraded to 1359 and seems to be issue with continuous charts and some historical charts.

Continuous - example, ZNH16 and all prior contracts - get an error - symbol doesn't exist - prior to upgrade I had years of data linking all symbols together

Historical - example, AMLP, had data going back to at least 2008. Now when load and update, it loads past 3 days and then writes over the historical .dly file so that the only data in the file is the past 3 days. This happens on numerous symbols

We cannot duplicate any problem like this. There were some changes with the processing of historical daily data during a download, but it all works perfectly.

Go to that chart and select Edit >> Delete All Data and Download.

If there still is a problem attach the historical daily data file for that symbol here. Here are instructions:

OK, replied to the email with the info you requested. For the continuous chart, it appears there may be an issue with symbol rollover definitions ALL having been deleted. The other issue, who knows, but when update the download definitely writes over the historical file with only the last few days of data, instead of appending.

This is now solved. Update Sierra Chart to version 1361.

About the above messages, update the Symbol Settings as explained here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_GlobalSymbolSettings.php#UpdateSettingsSteps

You just need to re-download the data for the affected symbols. Go to those charts and select Edit >>Delete All Data and Download.

Ver 1361
Replied to email this morning. Re: continuous. Updated the symbol settings and still having same issue. It appears that maybe the issue is related to contract months not being updated with symbol settings? See attached example, ES

The settings in that attached screenshot are correct.

Follow the instructions here to re-download the data in one of the charts and see if that corrects the problem:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ContinuousFuturesContractCharts.html#ReDownloading

There should be no problem after re-downloading the data.

I followed ALL the steps, even updated symbol settings again -

At the Step "5.The next step is to select Edit >> Delete All Data And Download on the menu." this results - still only shows data for ESH16 and there are data files in my data directory for ES* back to 2008.

Also Step 6, "Press No at the first prompt to re-download data for all of the historical futures contract files. Do not press the Yes button." that option does not occur. I presume that means that none of the other data files are loaded or else it would ask if the update is for all symbols - it only asks, update ESH16

We had not looked at the email and we did now. It confuses things more when both the Support Board and email are being used. All information needs to be provided right here through the Support Board. You can attach files privately if you want.

The settings we saw in the screenshot were correct and it should work.

However, being you are still getting this:

ESH16 [CBV] [M] Daily #7 | Symbol Settings not found for symbol. Unable to build continuous futures contract chart. | 2016-01-28 12:49:16
ESH16 [CBV] [M] Daily #7 | There are no continuous futures contract symbols. Loading data normally. | 2016-01-28 12:49:16

You will need to perform a Full Reset of the Symbol Settings:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_GlobalSymbolSettings.php#FullResetSymbolSettingsSteps

The problem is that the internal service code in the chart for the symbol is not matching the currently selected service.

Also, this means the chart is not set to a Continuous Futures Contract chart:

Also Step 6, "Press No at the first prompt to re-download data for all of the historical futures contract files. Do not press the Yes button." that option does not occur.

Sorry for email and support board. I didn't realize, until after the fact that I sent email, that I could attach a file and tag it as private.

As I originally thought, the issue was with symbol settings. The full symbol reset fixed the problem that even the update symbol settings wouldn't.

Just FYI, I hadn't changed any symbol settings when I upgraded to version 1359 so the upgrade must have deleted the settings AND version 1361 install didn't fix the issue - only the full symbol reset.

Thanks - resolved
