1344 High Message Log Volume- Full Recalculation VbP

I waited to update from 1300 to 1344, until today Dec28,3pm Central, to skip the many releases re IB, DTC work/fixes, etc. I read your recent "performance" gains & match functions posts re 1344, early vs newer 1344. You said a newer 1344 or next might have performance improvements (we don't know if you mean generally if we use several spreadsheets, or only for certain functions). A new oddity has appeared which might slow my system's performance-- due to many (100's) messages and full recalcs. I'm getting high volume of Messages saying VbP -Full Recalculation, on 1 sec, 1-min, 5 min, etc bars. (about 8 charts have total of 10 VbP studies). Recalc Messages are each second to 5 seconds apparently, even from 1-minute & 5-min bars (those each 6 seconds or so). It seems odd since I never saw that before. I got few system messages unless changing a study, etc., the charts would all do a recalc. I have not tested whether there is any relation of this to my adding T & S Total Bid Ask Volume studies to one chart with DOM (1 min-bars). I was also waiting for a fix on Colored Background Bars "Bars back" setting, which you said might be fixed about now. That appears not fixed yet. I was concerned that a fix to clear background color bars might redraw charts more frequently, which might create problems, or messages like this one. Excess messages and recalcs can not help performance, and clutter the Message log. Is there something new being done on VbP recalcs? I hope not, because it was fast and worked well. |

I forgot to say that the system does not seem noticably slower with the many new recalc. messages, but I have not measured precisely. Most speed-performance-issues show up and matter much more in fast markets. I would have to do a replay of exact same period using Version 1300 vs 1344 to tell more precisely. |

The Volume by Price full recalculation messages will be removed in the next release coming out later this evening. They were there for debugging purposes. Colored Background Setting to Auto-Clear prior bars is Working. Full Recalc on VbP is Working. (Nice Option you have to clear, no clear) - - - - You may have one more debug log message or something in re tick filtering error happening causing many Log messages: Error Filtered for TICK-____, Intraday High= ____, Intraday Low = _____, Value= ____, Time Difference = 11 seconds, Percentage = 200.2199%, [ date - time ] Time difference on on ticks ranging from 0- 60 seconds; most often 1 to 15 seconds.. These post many over a few seconds, then not for half minute. Total about 100 per minute. Guessing: May be related to Study or Chart Overlay, ticks onto other charts, or feed lag (I am not yet using your new low-bandwidth setting option for S.D. data). Had also some HD Requests on stats: Historical Error Filtered for TICK & UVOL (not so many, not on-going like other "error filtered") |

Provide us the exact line like this that you see: Error Filtered for TICK-____, Intraday High= ____, Intraday Low = _____, Value= ____, Time Difference = 11 seconds, Percentage = 200.2199%, [ date - time ] Apparently the error filtering is not disabled for the market statistics symbols. To solve this, update the Symbol Settings as explained here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_GlobalSymbolSettings.php#UpdateSettingsSteps This error filtering has been filtering out valid data so you will need to re-download the data in the market statistics charts with Edit >>Delete All Data and Download. The server has years of data so the 5 months will just be re-downloaded. You can also re-download from any point time in the Intraday Data Editor by following the instructions for Delete and Download Data From Current Position to End: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_IntradayDataEditor.html#DeleteDownloadDataFromCurrentPositionToEnd We have confirmed based on the Message Log entries, that the problem must be the Symbol Settings are not up to date.
