I waited to update from 1300 to 1344, until today Dec28,3pm Central, to skip the many releases re IB, DTC work/fixes, etc. I read your recent "performance" gains & match functions posts re 1344, early vs newer 1344. You said a newer 1344 or next might have performance improvements (we don't know if you mean generally if we use several spreadsheets, or only for certain functions). A new oddity has appeared which might slow my system's performance-- due to many (100's) messages and full recalcs. I'm getting high volume of Messages saying VbP -Full Recalculation, on 1 sec, 1-min, 5 min, etc bars. (about 8 charts have total of 10 VbP studies). Recalc Messages are each second to 5 seconds apparently, even from 1-minute & 5-min bars (those each 6 seconds or so). It seems odd since I never saw that before. I got few system messages unless changing a study, etc., the charts would all do a recalc. I have not tested whether there is any relation of this to my adding T & S Total Bid Ask Volume studies to one chart with DOM (1 min-bars). I was also waiting for a fix on Colored Background Bars "Bars back" setting, which you said might be fixed about now. That appears not fixed yet. I was concerned that a fix to clear background color bars might redraw charts more frequently, which might create problems, or messages like this one. Excess messages and recalcs can not help performance, and clutter the Message log. Is there something new being done on VbP recalcs? I hope not, because it was fast and worked well. |
