Do you mean the main Sierra Chart program is actually frozen and inoperable?

Most likely this is happening from your Chartbook. Do not open your existing Chartbook and start a new one. You can attach your existing one here so we can test it.

However, we want to know if that is the problem first.

i got error: Error opening file for writing: C:\SierraChart\Rim\DTCBridge.exe
To solve this problem, terminate this program through the Windows Task Manager. Although it should shutdown we would expect within 30 seconds.

Follow the instructions here to go back to an earlier release where you do not see the issue:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/download.php#Rollback

We need some time to contemplate this problem. There have been some changes to the runtime library linking but we would not have expected this kind of issue. So far we cannot duplicate the issue on two different systems.

If you remember what version of Sierra Chart you were running previously, please go back to that version.

We think we have an idea now about the problem and we will be working on it later today. At the moment we can only recommend that you go back to the version you were previously running.

We think there is a compatibility issue between the Rithmic libraries we are using and the Visual C++ runtime libraries in the newest versions. This is what we are going to be checking on.

You are using the standard installation folder of: C:\SierraChart\

Just use the default installation folder.

Try going back to version 1319.

The problem relates to the Rithmic bridge program which uses software from Rithmic. This is one of the last remaining API Components that Sierra Chart uses.

As a matter of policy we do not support these any longer as explained here:

However, when that bridge process is started, it makes no sense that the operating system CreateProcess function is freezing. That is an operating system-level fault.

We examined the linking used in the Rithmic bridge program and we did not see any obvious problem. We made a couple of minor changes.

We have now released version 1325. We want you to install it into a completely new folder on your system and test connecting to Rithmic. You can do this any time that you want. The feedback is appreciated. There really should be no problem for the freezing to be occurring when the Rithmic bridge program is started.

If you do continue to encounter problem, we do not know how we can help you and we recommend to contact your broker and having them put you on the CQG trading platform service instead:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/CQGTrading.php

Also, testing two different systems we cannot duplicate this issue and as of this time we do not have any other reports the problem.
