Hi. The Sierra data feed has BMF exchange instruments, which I was able to load during my trial. I want to subscribe to it, but there is no price neither the option to do it. The symbols are listed here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChart_RealTime_And_Historical_Symbols.php&SymbolsPage=Futures#bmf

How do I subscribe to it?

You should be getting chart data.

What is the specific symbol that you tried?

We will set up real-time data for this exchange. But please allow us about one week for this.

The cost will be 35 USD per month + 65 USD for the BM&F Futures exchange fee.
This is futures only.

I'm loking mainly for BMF Bovespa Mini (UM),BMF Bovespa Index (XI), BMF US Dollar (XD), 1-Day Interbank Dep.(DP).

What about brazilian residentes? I think the BMF Exchange offers a lower price for them, as the other Market data providers charge a much lower fee for brazilian residentes.

At this time you will be able to get delayed non-streaming historical Daily and Intraday data for these symbols using the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service. Do you have a problem with that currently?

Make sure you are on the current version of Sierra Chart:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/download.php#FastUpdate

You also need to select the symbols through File >> Find Symbol. The month code and year needs to be part of the symbol.

We are checking on the exchange fees for Brazilian residents.

Any news about the BMF Brazilian exchange? I can't get even the delayed non-streaming historical data. Looks like it's being locked.

We have been working to add the BMF, but we can see there are still some implementation details that need to be resolved. This will be done by the end of the week.

You should have no trouble getting Historical Daily charts. Are you referring to Intraday charts?

Regarding the cost of the BMF exchange fee ffor Brazilian residents, we can apply a credit to your account each month to offset the higher cost of the BMF exchange fee.

We would like to comment, that the position of the BMF to charge higher exchange fees for people outside of Brazil is absolutely ludicrous and an absurd policy. We have never heard of such a thing before.

We have added the BMF exchange. Although there are still some updates we need to do on one of our servers to have it maintain data for these markets.

Did you need market depth data?

We have to check on Monday about the number of levels.

We also have to figure out how to handle the credit to your account since you are a resident of Brazil so that you can get the lower-priced exchange fee.

It would be very unlikely there is any bug with the data.

We are going to have the BMF Futures exchange finalized by the end of the day today.

There are going to be separate exchange prices for Brazilian residents and nonresidents.

Thats really good news! Any chance to offer Brazilian equities BOVESPA exchange in the future? Nowadays, only offered by ESignal, which unfortunately is not supported by Sierra.

We are working with a broker in Brazil to offer both stocks and futures.

Not sure exactly when this will be. The whole process is going very slow.

Regarding market depth for BMF futures, we are not getting any market depth for that now but we are checking on it.

No price yet for Brazilian residents. By the way, I'm working myself in a DTC gateway for a Brazilian market data provider. May be I'm a little ahead of this local broker. But BMF/Bovespa rules regarding the offer of comercial products are insane. It contradicts its own words for making the stock exchange a popular investment here. And the brokers are lazy and do not run after improving its services. :(

We apologize, we did not actually finish listing those additional exchanges. This will be done tomorrow.

The reason for the delays, with us offering data direct from the BMF/Bovespa are in part related to:
And the brokers are lazy and do not run after improving its services. :(

Otherwise, we would be moving ahead with this quite quickly.

Letting you know the reason for all of this trouble regarding the BMF exchange is the fact that there are different prices for Brazil residents and nonresidents and the fact that Barchart does not have programmatic implementation of the exchange fee for Brazil residents.

This is so much trouble, that we have removed the exchange for residents because it is not practical for us to be supporting.

Now you could be critical of Barchart about this, but the problem is they do not want to invest the effort in this when there are so few Brazil users of that exchange. But the underlying problem is really with the exchange policy. We have never seen any such policy like this anywhere in the world and it simply makes no sense.

General commentary:

Exchange policies and especially this one are detrimental for so many different reasons and have all kinds of far-reaching side effects.

It is quite absurd exchanges around the world charge exchange fees for real-time data when it is the traders themselves which create that data, this data should be public knowledge to begin with, and then they try to sell it back to traders for a fee. This is ridiculous in an of itself.

Hello,

is BM&F/Bovespa (B3) datafeed offered by Sierrachart nowdays?

If it is, can we use the backtest tool to replay that market using coded ACSIL bots?

Thanks in advance

Yes the B3 exchange is offered. But you do have to pay the full Nonresident exchange fees even if you are in Brazil , if you require real-time data.

If it is, can we use the backtest tool to replay that market using coded ACSIL bots?
Yes. There is no additional cost for this and is included with all Sierra Chart service packages:

That is just perfect news, in my case, just to make everything clear, as I dont need the real-time data from B3, I wouldn't have to pay for the extra Nonresident exchange fees you spoke about right?

Also, could you inform the earliest date of historical intraday data of B3 futures you have?

The last question is: on simulation replay mode, do Sierra Chart backtester respects the book's price orders queue execution of the limit orders I place?

Thanks again

Sierra Chart Engineering - Posts: 104368
Yes you do not have to pay any exchange fees in this case.

Historical intraday data goes back to 2014 for the BMF/B3 but it does not appear to be tick by tick until 2016.

do Sierra Chart backtester respects the book's price orders queue execution of the limit orders I place?
No.
