I sent my message log for analysis. Please advise.

Was on the phone with IQ Feed and they told me it looks like the software blew up, might be indicator corruption. Taking up over 3mil of memory in task manager even after I end process and re-load.

Me Too, after last update, I can not open Sierra Charts - error message states Sierra charts has run out of memory. Nothing else was changed added or deleted from previous version?

nothing.. I added a few "horizontal lines"

Y, it has never happened to me before until I uploaded new version last night.

Oddly, this has only happened to one computer and not the 2'nd.. The one that is corrupted is the one I uploaded new version last night with IQ and the one that is fine is the one I uploaded new version today and has Rithmic feed. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Was on the phone with IQ and they told me its from Sierra's side.

If I have to uninstall and re-install, is there any way to save my workstations?

How do you go back to your older version?

We have contacted one of the users in this thread about the problem.

This is what we have discovered:

This morning IQ Feed has transmitted errors on many of their symbols which are way off price. This is causing problems with studies like the TPO Profile Chart study and the Volume by Price study to allocate huge amounts of memory. These studies do have the ability to manage this type of problem but this error is so significant that it is still causing excessive memory use and causing Sierra Chart to freeze.

This is the procedure to correct the problem:

1. Terminate or restart Sierra Chart.

2. Do not open any of your Chartbooks. If you have Chartbooks set to automatically open, then quickly go to Global Settings >> General Settings and remove all the Chartbooks from the Files To Open On Startup list. Press OK.

3. Go to File >> Find Symbol and open an Intraday chart for each of the symbols you have Intraday charts for in your Chartbooks.

4. Look at the charts. If there is a data error, it will be very obvious. Right-click before that data error and select Delete Data and Download. Press Yes to confirm. You might need to scroll back the chart in time to spot the data error.

5.Once all of the data errors are corrected, you can then open your Chartbooks without a problem.

6. Let us know if you need more help.

We do apologize for this, but this is an unexpected issue have to do with bad IQFeed data. It has nothing to do with the new Sierra Chart version. If you updated, it is merely coincidental that this problem has occurred today. It is due to an IQ feed data error.

This process is not working on the @ES and @ES-C for some reason.. but has worked with the other instruments.. Also the task manager is still running high again..

When you say the process is not working, do you mean you see the data error from IQ Feed appear again? We had a look and we do not see data errors for these symbols from IQ Feed currently.

If you do see the errors, please contact them them about the problem. Until they correct that error, unfortunately you will not be able to open the Chartbooks which are going to be affected by the significant data error.

no, meaning no data error on ES while charts can't load, and the task manager running high again, with no apparent reason.

Please advise, thx

Therefore, the Chartbook must be using a symbol that still has a data error. You will need to open a chart for that symbol without opening your Chartbook and clear the data error as previously instructed.

Y, I did that.. The only charts having that issue are the ES charts and I've done that multiple times for both @ES# and @ES-C with the same results..

I'm telling you that process that has been working with CL and NQ is not working with ES for some reason..

Please advise..thx

There's got to be some other symbol in your Chartbook that you are not aware of that has a data error.

If you are unable to determine that symbol our only advice is going to be to recommend to rebuild your Chartbook and do not use the existing one.

Rebuilding a chart book is a pain as I have many charts and this can re-occur again.

Can somebody just remote in and take a look please? This has taken many hours already..

I've sent new message logs.. have you seen those?

Please rebuild the Chartbook.

The other possibility is for you to delete all of your data files. You can do that by selecting File >> Open Intraday Chart. Select all of the files and delete them. This will clear the data errors from IQ Feed. Do this before opening any Chartbooks.

Are you kidding me?? I have spent 4 hours doing this.... I will need to spend another 45 min rebuilding my chart book and all its tool and settings.

I have did everything you asked me to and spent another hr after your call, which was about 20min..

It would be much easier if your team can help identify the problem so it doesn't occur again. You can imagine, how irate and irritated I am and would be if it re-occurs again..

BTW-I also work so don't have time to spend hours only doing this....... Can somebody please just call me?

Is that going to erase my old settings?

We did identify the problem. It is due to a data error from IQ Feed.

Please follow our instructions to delete the Intraday data files as we stated in post #16. This way you do not have to rebuild the Chartbook. Please look at post #16 again.

We understand your frustration about the problem. but this is due to a data error from IQ Feed . This is an excessively wrong error which triggers a large amount of memory allocation because there is a very large price range in a bar.

lol, what do you think I've been doing? I followed your instructions verbally which was stated in #16 BUT ITS NOT WORKING..

I just deleted all intraday files and now been waiting for historical data download and its taking a really long time.. Is that normal?

It can potentially take a long time to download Intraday data. And if there is a large amount of data being downloaded when TPO Profile Charts are open, this can slow the process more.
