Second system not getting data

I'm trying to set up a second SC system on a laptop. If I copy the existing SC folder via thumbdrive to the C: drive of the laptop, it will start up, log in and show connected to the trade server but it is not getting updated price information. I am using Denali and Interactive Bonkers. It does this even if the main machine is not running. It's fine on my main machine and the laptop is more than capable of running SC, it's actually a better CPU & RAM than my main machine. I just want to be able to monitor things outside the office. Suggestions? thank you |

Ok, curiously, I figured out that having the second system set to have ->the Denali Data feed set to YES<-, in Trade Setup Common Settings, it kills the Rithmic feed completely. It gets the historic download data for the chart(s) to the current time and stops there. If I set the Use Denali Data feed to NO, I get the Rithmic data feed live and the charts update normally. This is good. The odd thing is that the DOM doesn't show but a couple of levels on the Rithmic feed (it could be them and not me) but it is updating price accurately. That's not necessarily a deal killer since the trades are coming from the chart alerts. However, the main system that is running the SC Denali Data feed and trading thru Interactive Bonkers and Rithmic is fine and the DOMs for both the IB and the Rithmic chart show full depth of prices. So that system has the Denali Data feed set to YES and the DOM on the Rithmic chartbook/trade server updates just fine with full depth. This leads me to question : ->Does the Denali Data feed only support one real time instance on only one machine?<- That would seem to support that the setup on the main system is working fine but it is not working on the secondary system and that is what I am seeing here. That's the only explanation I can come up with so far. thanks! |

I asked Grok about it : Three simultaneous connections (data feeds/instances) per device/computer. sierrachart.com According to Sierra Chart’s official documentation for the Denali Exchange Data Feed:Up to 3 simultaneous connections to the data feed are supported per device (same computer). You can use the feed on up to 2 separate computers at the same time (this requires paying additional exchange fees for the second computer). I need to check my account but I think I'm only paying for one computer. |
