Moving Target Level

I have a sell position and I then during the trade I move the the original target lower. Price then moves above my entry but my new target then moves back to the original target level. Unfortunately, price then moves sharply lower taking out my original target level. Price then proceeds downward to the new target price that has been deleted due to the prior action. Is there any other way to prevent this other than initially setting the original target level lower or re-entering the trade? Or is this an exchange-related reset action based on the original trade entry? Thanks!

Is the Target resetting to the original position immediately after you move it, or does it take some time for this to occur?

When you have this happen, you need to look in your "Trade >> Trade Service Log" and see if there are any notifications related to changing that Target price. You can post your Trade Service Log to this thread for us to take a look by following these instructions:

It resets as soon as price moves above my entry point, thus becoming a losing position.

If you are able to move the Target initially, and it stays at that position after you move it, at least for a few seconds (if not longer), and then, after some amount of time it moves on its own, then this is due to something in your setup.

In other words, it is not an initial rejection of the change to the target, which would be the case if the target jumped back immediately.

Are you running a "Trade Management by Study" study, or something else that would cause the Target to move? You must have something in your setup that is causing this to occur.

Thanks, John. I don't have that but I'll take a look at my setups. The target only moves back to the original level after trade moves into a losing position. That's why I thought it might be exchange-related reset action based on the original trade entry.
