Hello, I recently updated to the latest release. I have my cursor set to go back to hand after use but after the update the crosshair is always on on the dom in the space where orders are. I use to be able to click in this area to turn on the crosshair and then click again to turn it off but now its just always on. Is there a fix for this?

We are not able to reproduce any particular issue related to the crosshair display in the Trading DOM in the latest release.

What exactly do you mean by "now its just always on"? What does it mean that it is always on? If you have the Trading DOM set to use the "Crosshairs" tool, are you able to left-click to turn the crosshairs on/off? What is the workflow that causes the issue?

Also, what is the setting for "Tools >> Tool Settings >> General >> Allow Change of Common Drawing Tool for Trading DOMs" set to?

I've attached an image where you can see the crosshair in the black area of the dom. I used to be able to click in this area to turn it on/off otherwise I just have the hand tool as default. Even when I manually select hand the crosshair is on on the dom and won't turn off. I'm not sure what you mean by workflow. I have a simple dom and some time charts is all.

allow change of... set to yes.

When you have this issue - in the Trading DOM, what is the option under "Chart >> Tools" set to?

Also, when this occurs - if you left click in the Trading DOM does the crosshair actually show/hide as you expect? Or is it not doing anything?

Keep in mind, the Trading DOM has a limited set of tools available - you will see the list under "Chart >> Tools" for the Trading DOM itself. What should occur for the setup you have, is that if you select a tool that is not supported by the Trading DOM, then the Trading DOM will stay in the last mode it was set to. Once you select a tool that is common between both Charts and Trading DOMs, then the tool options will update in both locations.

I detached the dom from the main window to get the chart>tools and it's set to chart values/crosshair. When I change it to pointer the crosshair doesn't activate.

When I left click in the dom the crosshair turns on for the charts but then doesn't turn off on the charts until I click on a chart. The crosshair stays on on the dom no matter what. I don't use any tools on the dom. I do have the dom set to copy drawings from charts but my settings are set to go back to hand so there's no crosshair anywhere.

Also I changed my global settings for a different color scheme and now all my chart borders are blue. How do I change that back?

Should I revert to a previous version to see if that fixes it?

Ok, this makes sense and is expected.

When I left click in the dom the crosshair turns on for the charts but then doesn't turn off on the charts until I click on a chart.

Do you have the option for "Tools >> Global Cursor On" enabled or not?

The crosshair stays on on the dom no matter what

We need more information related to this. If the Trading DOM has the tool set to "Chart Values/Crosshairs", then when you left click, does it properly toggle the crosshairs on/off?

On a regular chart, if you have the tool set to "Chart Values/Crosshair" do the crosshairs toggle on/off with the left click on the chart?

The crosshair stays on on the dom no matter what.

As we stated above, if you have the Crosshairs turned on in the Trading DOM, then when you change the tool in another chart, the crosshairs will stay showing in the Trading DOM. If this is not what you are referencing, then we are not understanding the situation you are trying to describe.

Also I changed my global settings for a different color scheme and now all my chart borders are blue. How do I change that back?

Refer to the following setting and the 3 items below it:
Graphics Settings: Window Title Bar

Global cursor is on. Clicking on the dom does not turn on/off the crosshair in the dom.

We are not able to reproduce this. Please get us that Chartbook by following these instructions:
Support Board Posting Information: Attaching a File (Optional)

And also get us your "Sierra4.config" file. It is located in the main installation folder for Sierra Chart (typically C:\SierraChart).

The Sierra4.config file you attached is named "Sierra4.config.new". Did you add the ".new" prior to uploading it? If not, then this is not the file we need. It is just "Sierra4.config".

The sierra4.config.new is the only one I saw. I think I've found the correct one.

The reason why you are always seeing the crosshairs in the DOM, no matter what is selected in another window is due to the fact that you have the setting for "Tools >> Tool Settings >> Chart Values >> Always On When Chart Values Tool Selected" set to "Yes". Refer to the following:
Chart Drawing Tools: Always On When Chart Values Tool Selected (Tool Settings >> Chart Values >> Chart Values)

As we noted previously, the Trading DOM is special and does not support all of the same tools. Therefore, when another chart is set to "Hand", the Trading DOM is still in "Chart Values/Crosshairs" mode. Therefore, the crosshairs are still being displayed due to the setting noted above.

There is no particular "workaround" for this. You would have to determine which is more important, or less annoying, to always have the crosshairs showing in the Trading DOM, or to not have the crosshairs always showing when in Crosshair mode.

Thanks. I turned that off and it's a little better. Clicking on the dom turns the crosshair on/off but now when I click and hold on the chart when in hand mode the crosshair comes on and displays on both the charts and the dom but when I let go it stays active on the dom. I can click on the dom and it turns it off.

What you are seeing is going to be part of the tradeoff that we mentioned above. There is no single collection of settings to get exactly what you are wanting.

I opened another chartbook and it worked perfectly like it used to. That is until I used a hotkey to turn the crosshair/chart values tool and then switched back to hand via hotkey. I closed SC without saving and reopened the chartbook and it worked again. If there's no fix I'll just get rid of that hotkey and hope it keeps working.
