Hi,

My charts are very slow to move and zoom in/out when I pan and zoom, especially the higher timeframe ones. It is NOT because of my CPU or RAM. I tried only having 1 chartbook open at a time, but it didn't solve the issue. How can I fix this?

Regards,
Kirellos

If you are using TPO or Volume by Price studies, first start with this help topic:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.34 - TPO Profile Chart Letter/Block Price Increment / Volume by Price Ticks Per Volume Bar

And then this help topic:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.48 - Basic Steps to Resolve Performance Issue in Sierra Chart

And:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.26 - Too Many Chart Drawings

The problem is not the profiles not loading when I scroll. The profiles are already all loaded in the view. I mean when I drag the chart up and down and sideways or try to zoom in/out. The chart ITSELF is very slow to respond, not the profiles.

As an experiment to isolate the problem, do the following:

1. Duplicate the chart with Chart >> Duplicate. Maximize that duplicated chart.

2. Remove all of the studies from the chart.

3. Remove all of the Chart Drawings from the chart ( Tools >> Erase All * commands)

4. Try scrolling the chart. And see if there is an improvement.

So the problem is with the study. What is the solution to this?

We need to know what study is causing the problem. Usually problems like this are related to too small of an increment with the TPO Profile or Volume by Price studies . This is all explained here:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.34 - TPO Profile Chart Letter/Block Price Increment / Volume by Price Ticks Per Volume Bar

The studies causing this are the VbP and TPO studies. I do not think that it's because of the CPU. Check attached screenshot for reference.
