I'm having another new issue....... Today, whenever I attempt to enter a trade on NQ, I get the connection drop alert and then my charts recalculate. The logs say they were reloaded because they were tagged. ES and GC trades executed normally. What do you need to help troubleshoot?

I tried shutting down the platform and reloading but that did not resolve. I had also added a new custom indicator today which I removed and that did not help either.

It makes absolutely no sense that there would be a dropped connection just because you put in a trade for a specific symbol. But, you are using Rithmic, and although we have not seen this specifically with them in the past, nothing would surprise us at this point. Definitely if you are having a dropped connection due to something like this, it is going to be from the Rithmic side.

When you have this occur, please get us both your Trade Service Log and your Message Log so we can verify what is occurring from the logs.

Refer to the following for how to get us your Trade Service Log:
Support Board Posting Information: Providing Lines From Trade Service Log

And follow these instructions to get us the Message Log:
Support Board Posting Information: How to Post Your Message Log (Required In Some Cases)

And also tell us the time of the occurrence specific to the Global Time Zone you have setup for your Sierra Chart system (Global Settings >> Time Zone)

Okay when the market opens I will get you the data. Also to be fair, I’m kind of assuming it’s dropping because it is making the same sound SC makes when the connection is lost. But it immediately goes into a download of historical intraday data. But I’ll get that data as soon as i can test again.

We understand. And that connection is to Rithmic. So why Rithmic would drop the connection due to a specific order is what we want to see. Then you can ask Rithmic about this.

Problem solved. Chart symbol is NQH6.CME trade and quote symbol was MNQH6.CMI...... turns out it will accept that without erroring out. Once I changed that to MNQH6.CME everything worked as expected. Apologies for the noise. Thanks!

Yes, Rithmic will do disconnections, when using an invalid symbol.

Rather than a graceful reject. The whole concept of a disconnect, is just simply plain dumb. So they think they are keeping their system safe. All they are doing is introducing another reconnect. And numerous messages, to get the correct order states and other information. It simply does not make any sense this concept of a disconnect.
